I bought the “INTO THE MAGIC SHOP” book back in 2016 to avoid boredom during a long-distance trip, it grabbed my heart immediately, and I actually finished it before my flight landed. I like the story and the teachings from the book so much that I translated the book into my mother language so that it can be easily shared with others who cannot read the English language. As the translator of the book, I received many requests from friends and readers to share more about the background, many are also seeking resources to learn more about Ruth’s tricks. Even though I’ve tried to provide as much research evidence as possible, I found this is far not enough for people who wish to benefit from the story especially the tools that this book offered at a more personal level (instead of reading research results).
And this audio course came just right on time. It is not a retelling of the story in the original book, the author offered more scientific information, additional examples, and experiences at a much more personal level in a well-structured way, and with his own voice. It feels more like a friend taking time to chat with you and telling you his own stories, with the hope that what he learned from his past can support you in your future in some way.
The exercises of Ruth’s “magic” were also incorporated into these lessons, but with a more detailed explanation before each guided meditation, which provide clarifications and solutions to many possible obstacles during the exercise, and made the exercise easier and “doable”, even for someone who has no previous meditation experience.
For anyone who would like to get the most of the INTO THE MAGIC SHOP book, this is a must-have. But even for people who have not yet read the book, this audio lessons still can be an excellent resource (as it does not require the knowledge of the story in the original book) if you wish to build up your compassion mussel, and to have the strength to handle stressful situations and live a more nurturing and meaningful life, this audio lessons are strongly recommended.
