Like another reviewer, I don't typically take the time to write a review of books I read. I seek out inspirational stories of people who have hit rock bottom and have used that experience to reach out to others. I read a short review of this story in Reader's Digest and decided to seek it out.

I read it cover to cover in a Saturday afternoon. The author is so frank, honest, and REAL. His story gives me hope for the future of so many, and proves that good can come after a life of mistakes.

Well written. I have always been highly skeptical of the ability of people to make radical changes for the better. This book changed my view in that regard. Mark Borovitz's journey from circling the drain to becoming a productive and highly valuable human being is inspiring. Those who plan on reading this book should have a box of Kleenex close by.

Although this is no literary masterpiece The Holy Thief is a rather interesting book that would probably appeal to a small niche of people. If the tale Borowitz tells is true it is a testament to real life experience vs what is taught in the classroom. I would have liked to learn more about his success with remediating former inmates

This book is a personal journey, based on a true story of Borovitz's life. It is overwhelming in scope. It provides insites into a man's heart. You will be captivated and moved to tears in many places. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good night's read.

The problem with memoirs is that writers need to know what other people will find interesting and what they won't. This memoir moves quick, and the story as he is "raised" by mobsters in Cleveland moves quick. Just a good book.
