About this item

He was her last chance. She was his first certainty.

Cora, Lady Dane, gave up her dreams of happily ever after a long time ago. Now newly widowed, the young mother is determined to finally live on her own terms... until a devastating betrayal shatters her hopes for the future. Faced with the prospect of losing her beloved children to overbearing relatives, Cora needs the help of the one thing she swore she'd never have again: a husband.

Nathaniel Travers hasn't a care—or responsibility—in the world. Content with his wayward lifestyle, the charismatic rogue has no interest in marriage or duty. That is until the earl cuts off his bank accounts. No stranger to wild escapades, Nate is game for any scheme that keeps him afloat... even a madcap ruse with a stubborn viscountess.

A fake engagement should be a straightforward solution to both of their dilemmas. But a summer at Cora's estate tests their arrangement, and it isn't long before their simmering attraction escalates to a feverish crescendo. When they are forced to confront the real complications of their faux betrothal, Nate has to make the first worthy gamble of his life... if only Cora can risk her guarded heart.

Forever Your Rogue is a swoony, sexy, and heartfelt Regency romance that can be enjoyed as a standalone.

5.0 out of 5 stars angsty but a worthy read

I actually read this after reading the sequel (Gavin’s story) and prequel (Raymond’s story). This one is a bit more angsty than I normally read, but very well written with an original engaging plot and characters I connected with immediately. Absolutely loved the character growth. the villains are just TERRIBLE and it’s so satisfying when they get their comeuppance.

I did find the timeline a little unbelievable, soooo much growth and change happens within a month. But I don’t really care enough to deduct a star.

What a wonderful historical romance from Erin Langston. I really enjoyed Nate and Cora’s story. Single mother to two lovely children and how Nate the rogue slowly but surely fell in love with Cora, Leo and Tess.
The fake relationship trope was so good and those letters Nate had to write. Muah! Loved it. Their chemistry was spot on and I liked that they had history.
Cora was a fabulous heroine. Strong and determined. Nate taught her a few other things as well. Wink wink. The sex was beautifully written but it was the love that shined. Cora’s love for her children, Nate and Cora’s love for each other and let’s not forget Nate’s love for Tess and Leo.
This debut from Erin Langston was so well written. I’m excited to read more from her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Historical Romance!

It was a little strange to see Nate all grown up after meeting him in the novella A Day Until Forever, but this was such a great historical romance! It had a satisfying redemption story and was such a sweet single parent, second chance-ish romance. The prequel novella gives more backstory to Nate’s history and his brother Raymond, but it’s not necessary to enjoy this novel.

Nate’s relationship with Leo and Tess was so adorable and this might be one of my favorite single parent romances ever. I also loved how things progressed between him and Cora. Marriage of convenience is a favorite trope of mine and it was done so well here. Nate definitely gave me West Ravenel vibes and his redemption story was so great to see. I loved the secondary characters, especially Gavin and Tabby. The conflict was a bit predictable and there were a few hiccups along the way, but overall this was such a wonderful read. The epilogue made my heart so very happy and full (and also a little sad) and I can’t wait to read more from Erin Langston.

I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a mom or because this book was just so well-written, but I felt so much for Cora and all she was going through to keep her family together. It’s so heartbreaking that, given the times, Cora basically had no say-so where her children were concerned. There were times in this story where my heart and mind were racing wondering what was going to happen. It’s so sad to think that this was the reality for so many women.

However, life made up for Cora’s hardships by giving her Daddy Nate Travers. This man is one of the best heroes I’ve ever read. He truly worships the ground Cora walks on and the way he loves her and her children unconditionally was EVERYTHING. The character growth in this book, for both the hero and heroine, was top tier. Cora is kind of a control freak and unaccustomed to people helping her, so she has to learn to trust Nate and let him be that person for her. Nate begins this story as a true rogue in every sense. He has no direction or purpose really, but seeing him find his purpose with Cora and her kids was handled perfectly. I found myself in tears at multiple points in this story because I felt so much for all of these characters.

The writing in this book was so beautiful. I’ve highlighted so many passages and can definitely see myself revisiting this story in the future. Also, the steam and chemistry between these two was amazing. It’s a bit of a slow-burn, but it’s definitely worth the wait! Oh, and not only is the romance fantastic, the plot was so intriguing and towards the end, I was dying to find out what would happen next. The stakes felt so real, but the end was super satisfying and that epilogue had me weepy.

What Erin Langston did with Cora and Nate’s story is something else. If you’re a historical romance reader and haven’t read this yet, I implore you to do so. I loved this so much and it’s become an instant new favorite for me. Forever Your Rogue has to be one of the most ‘romantic’ historical romances I’ve ever read.

4.0 out of 5 stars a bit long but good overall

Enjoyed this one overall. I do feel it could have easily been at least 50 pages shorter. There were a lot of redundancies. But the character development was strong, and I liked the story. Nate and Cora are a great couple.
