About this item
Falling for my kidnapper is a terrible idea.
He's a bad man, and I don't mean trash like your ex. I mean seriously bad. I mean dangerous. You can tell just by looking at him: black eyes, a menacing scowl, and a nose that's been badly broken in the past. He is my arch-nemesis. My mortal enemy. My singular obsession.
I was afraid of him when we met. He kidnapped and chained me to a bed. Me—Damon Alexander Beckett of BeckIT fame and fortune. Well, the joke's on him because I'm going to make it my life's mission to destroy him. But first, I have to survive being his captive. He's here all the time, watching me. His heavy male presence never more than five feet away. Dark, glinting eyes tracking down my body.
When he propositions me indecently, I am shocked and outraged—as I should be. Seriously, the audacity of him is unreal. It's obvious I should say no. It goes without saying. Any sane person would laugh in his face.
So why am I on my knees?

4.0 out of 5 stars more steam than plot
5.0 out of 5 stars MM crime romance that’s a true enemies to lovers with tons of humor and some spicy scenes
It’s about a very extra billionaire’s son who dedicates himself to be as spitefully annoying and unbearable as possible toward his kidnapper once he learns that he’s supposed to be kept alive and unharmed for a week or two until the ransom is paid. It doesn’t help that they are both stuck together with nothing to do and are extremely attracted to one another despite despising each other.
This was very funny and a ton of fun, with a couple action scenes thrown in the mix. I had a blast with it and will definitely be looking into more by the author. Apparently this is their first “enemies to lovers/rivals to lovers” book but their next one will have that trope as well so I will definitely have to read it when it comes out.
Read on Kindle Unlimited. Definitely recommend.
A sample of the narration when the billionaire’s son Damon is trying to *not* admit he finds the kidnapper attractive:
“He has a distinctive look, I’ll give him that. If you were into bad boys and you met him, you’d be toast. He has this intense masculinity about him that’s exceedingly disconcerting. Not that I’m saying he’s attractive. He’s not. It’s just that if you had a thing for men who are borderline animalistic in their appearance, you might notice him. That’s what I’m saying. If he turned up at the audition for the villain of a superhero movie, the casting director would take one look at him and cancel the rest of the auditions. I doubt he’d even let the rest of the actors read. That’s all I’m saying.”
5.0 out of 5 stars WOW
It’s swoony and funny and clever and so sweet and also so sharp. Do yourself a favor and read it immediately.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great writing, a wonderful story and incredible characters... ????????????
Morally grey characters are some of my absolute favorites and this author has done a fantastic job with Saint – I swooned over his possessiveness over Damon… ????
LOL - Damon, he was such a diva and I loved him for it, his quick wit and refusal to be the quiet ‘damsel’ in distress just accepting his fate, made him all the more loveable.
Neither of them saw love in their futures and I loved seeing them figure out their feelings.
One of my favourite scenes was their love confession - it was hilarious and so uniquely them....????????????
The charm, humour, and intelligence of Jesse’s writing continues to enthral and as long as she writes MM, I WILL READ IT.
Smartly written with a satisfying ending - this book is an absolute must-read...????

I definitely had different expectations going into this book. I thought it would be darker, but I'm so glad it wasn't! Demon was such a brat. It made me laugh. And then there is Saint. Definitely the strong silent type, but also so unexpectedly sweet and tender. Not to mention his passion for reading romance novels! Absolutely adored that little tidbit. These two had a lot of spicy interactions and a kind of magnetism that drew them towards each other, even when they didn't want that. I think the thing that could have really brought this book up a level was seeing a deeper connection form. We didn't get as much relationship development that I would have loved to see. I had a hard time suspending my disbelief in that aspect.... but I still enjoyed every bit of what we were given. This was a very solid read!
