About this item

AN INSTANT USA TODAY BESTSELLER

In this latest adrenaline-fueled adventure in the #1 New York Times bestselling series, Stone Barrington faces his most vindictive threat yet.

Finally enjoying some downtime in Santa Fe, Stone Barrington agrees to attend an art exhibit with a dear friend. There, he encounters an intriguing woman who is on the trail of a ring of art thieves. Always one to please, Stone offers his help.

From Santa Fe to Los Angeles, it quickly becomes clear that her investigation has links to Stone—particularly to rare Matilda Stone art, his mother’s paintings. And when old grudges come to light, Stone is forced to reckon with a familiar enemy. Stone must act fast before whoever is out to get him finally closes in on him . . . for good.

I have read all books written by Stuart Wolds and the two published after his unfortunate passing. This is better than the last one and read as if written by Stuart Woods. Plot got. Little onerous in the last 20% of the book.

I was devastated when I read of Mr. Woods passing, condolences to his family. You have follwed.in his footsteps and written a great book. I was hooked after reading Chief. Then followed every book written till I caught up. Thank you for keeping his legacy going.

This is one of the better Woods novels. Action almost constantly. Plots and sub- plots abound with an interesting mix of characters (as well as the VERY INTERESTING regulars). Lots of diverse settings and fun.

I've read ALL of his books in this series. This one reads like a placeholder. It keeps you going, but not as fun or as whimsical or as well-developed a plot. And without more of a plot, there feels like a lot more "background" for those who haven't read all the books that preceded it.

There is something about a Stone Barrington novel that is so satisfying. The stories are just fun and interesting despite the somewhat expected outcome, if you're a fan then you know nothing truly bad is going to happen to ruin Stone's tale, and you never want it to, but reading how it all unfolds is just great! I am very sad this is the last one from Stuart Woods he was my very favorite author. Brett Battles did an amazing job finishing up these last few, it was like he channeled Stuart while doing it.
