About this item

Why can’t I stop thinking about my roommate after walking in on him “taking care of business"?

What should have been a humiliating experience for both of us ends up being the start of one of the best friendships I’ve ever had.

Finn is smart, adorkable, and his shyness pushes all my buttons. The problem? My interest in him quickly shifts from friendship to something less than platonic. Feelings I’ve been pushing down for years bubble up to the surface, and I find myself unable to see him as just a friend or keep my hands to myself.

When a night out leads to some extracurricular fun, Finn and I decide to have a no-strings-attached fling. He’s the perfect person to explore my bisexuality with, and our chemistry is off the charts. Finn might still have his V-Card, but he’s not inexperienced, and the more we’re together, the more we learn about ourselves.

Until it’s not enough.

I want him, and he wants me, but the idea of coming out terrifies me. Is Finn the person who can help me discover who I am? And can I get my head out of my a*s in time to prove to him I’m worth taking a chance on?

Never Have I Ever: Punched My Roommate's V-Card is a friends-to-lovers MM romance between roommates who discover that opposites really do attract. Expect super hot, slightly kinky encounters, a houseful of quirky college guys, and a ton of sweetness once this jock and nerd finally get on the same page. It is the first novel in the exciting new Never Have I Ever series but can be listened to as a standalone.

This was just a really fun smutty little read. Not heavy on the plot but I was definitely a good time.

This was an enjoyable roommates to friends to lovers story! Both MCs were so likeable and such good guys. This was a low-angst, feel good romance about two really great guys falling in love. I really liked their conversations, the way they got to know each other, the honesty between them, and how understanding and supportive they were to each other. This book was also scorching hot! The club and library scenes were pure fire! There were also some very intimate, tender scenes between them that were great. Beck got to experience all his firsts with a man with Finn as he came to terms with being bisexual. Finn had experience, but had yet to find the person he was comfortable losing his virginity to, until he met Beck. They explored a lot. So much. While they got to know each other as well during these times, I felt there might have been a few too many detailed scenes, but they were all done really well. I got a little frustrated with Beck a few times, but I still really liked the way his coming out was handled. His fears and his worry felt so realistic and I loved how he talked to Finn who was so supportive and understanding. After a longer book, the end felt a bit rushed to me as everything just wrapped up so quickly, but overall an enjoyable read. Looking forward to book 2!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beck & Finn

I absolutely loved this story. Never Have I Ever: Punched My Roommates V Card is a super sweet, and steamy bj-awakening love story. Beck is a popular student who goes to parties pretty regularly with his friends. Finn a a shy, more nerdy student who likes to stay in. They’ve been roommates for a few months but haven’t really talked much. One night Finn joins Beck and two of his friends/roommates in a game of never have I ever. After some of the things Finn reveals during the game Beck wants to get to know him more.

Beck Decides he’s going to be Finn’s wingman and help him get a date. As they hangout and get to know each other, Beck starts to realize his feelings for Finn might be more than just friends. Finn has had a crush on Beck for awhile so he’s pretty into anything Beck might want to try.

Their relationship is very cute, and romantic. They have a great bond and incredible chemistry. They are adorable and so sportive of each other. I just loved their relationship so much. The other roommates were great characters as well and I can’t wait for them to get their own stories.

I did receive a free ARC of this book but that did not influence my review.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good editing.

First of all, I have to commend the author for a sharply immaculate manuscript; (almost) 100% typo and error free. I think I found only one instance of a sentence with a missing word. Well done. That earns 2 of my 3 stars!
Unfortunately, I can't say that I was as enamored with this book as the majority of my fellow readers.
Yes, the book is well written. No complaints there.
Yes, I enjoyed the engaging dialogue (which always makes a book come alive for me).
But, as I think back on the book as a whole, it seems to consist of nothing but physics lectures and bedroom shenanigans... Back to back and cover to cover. This stuff totally overpowers the underlying plot, which, right now, I couldn't even tell you what it was.

I found the character of Finn to be weirdly inconsistent. For someone who claimed to be a V he is astoundingly "experienced" and clued up on all the technicalities and techniques involving s#x, (particularly since he's only 20 yrs old)
Same goes for Beck actually. His transition from being "straight" to diving feet first into a man/man relationship was astonishingly easy.
His only hang-up seemed to be that he insisted on keeping it all a secret.

OK, all that has moved the plot along OK, and with zero drama or angst of any kind. But then, all of a sudden, the "kinks" come into play, almost as if the author was at a loss as to where to go from there in order to fill up her planned 300+ pages.
So from here onwards Finn & Beck's whole relationship is based on how exhibitionistic they can be (even though it's really all pseudo-exhibitionism).
This, which has the potential to be very exciting reading, just kind of fell flat and felt forced.
And then (drumroll) came the last chapter...
This, for me, was like someone had, at the end of an already unsatisfactory read, taken a pin to the balloon and just let all the air out. That introduction to more kinky stuff: handcuffs, bondage, filming, 'the swing'... whatever (all suggested since it was a wrap of the book) just made me roll my eyes and go "???? ahhrgh, what WTF NEXT? Give me a break!" (TIP: if you're going to even so much as suggest BDSM elements, put it in the blurb so there aren't any surprises)
It's a miracle I actually finished this book. It's unlikely that I'll try another by this author.
    1 star for story/plot.
2 stars for editing and execution.

4.0 out of 5 stars I love science buuuut

So I’m docking a star on an otherwise great romance and start to a cool series which looking at the summaries is all about the roommates and the guys they end up with. Why am I docking a star? Because while I studied physics, and wanted to be an aeronautical engineer when I first went to college, I honestly do not want to read pages of science facts (I actively skipped those pages because I already took those classes in college) when I’m immersed in a rather fluffy “gosh I like guys” romance. Also, there were a few times when Finn’s internal dialogue was far more experienced than his V status implies and eh. Good imaginations and toys are a thing but there were times I went “ok but he said he’d never done it why is he talking like he has already?” I’m going to read more of the series because wheee the characters were cute and fun. I loved the roommates and best friends. I liked the club activities. I even liked how the boys looked out for the younger girls at the frat party even if I think the whole go to college and get sloppy drunk is way more dangerous that this book implies.
