This book is a lot different from other books that have been written about Ted Bundy, and it is partly because it isn’t just about him. It is also about the author, who tells about her life before the attack, some of the things she went through because of the attack, and about her life after the attack. For people who have read a lot of the other books about Bundy, some of the information that doesn’t pertain to her own attack can be found in many of the other books but there are a few facts that I read in this book that were new to me because I have read almost every book there is on Bundy and haven’t read a few of the things that were in this one. I did notice one small mistake where the author says that when Bundy was captured after his first escape from Colorado that he was found walking around on the road but in other books and articles it says he was pulled over because he was driving and swerving in a car he had stolen after wandering around in the mountains for days. However, I believe it’s easy to have made the mistake because Bundy’s first escape did involve him walking around for days in the mountains trying to find food and shelter but his ultimate goal was to leave the town he was in but he went in circles and was tired and hungry and ended up being caught close to where he had escaped from in the same town. I applaud the author for telling her story and for wanting to remember the other victims and their stories and who they might have been or become if not for Bundy so cruelly taking their lives. She has a much different opinion about Bundy being portrayed in other books as handsome and intelligent and charming and also in thinking that this isn’t why a lot of his victims were taken in by his charm or good looks, but rather another viewpoint which I will let the reader find this out so as not to write and spoilers in my review. Overall, I highly recommend this book to others.
