About this item

I was supposed to have it all.

I’d been prom queen and cheer captain—high school’s most savage Queen Bee. I could have everything I wanted.

Except them. The freaks, the weirdos, the school’s ultimate losers: Manson, Jason, Lucas, and Vincent. Our hatred for each other couldn’t keep us apart, not even when my own mistake got Manson expelled and made me the ultimate villain to the rest of them.

One night was supposed to be enough.

I couldn’t resist forever. For one night, I gave myself over to the men I wasn’t supposed to want and satisfied the darkest parts of my soul. But some things are meant to stay in the dark. One night and it was over.

Nothing more than a game.

Now, with college behind me, our worlds collide yet again. Four men, all willing to share me as their plaything until my debt to them is paid. Another game to satiate my dark cravings, the twisted rules of which bring us all even closer than before. But games aren’t meant to last.

When the debt is paid and the game is done, what if I don’t want to walk away?

Losers: Part 1 is book one in the Losers duet. Although not required, it is recommended to listen to the novella The Dare before listening to Losers: Part 1.

Contains mature content.

????????????????????

*READ THE DARE FIRST*

I went into this nearly blind. All I knew was I LOVE everything I've read from Harley and everyone ranks this duet at the tippity top of their "spiciest books I've ever read" list. I had no idea what to expect as far as plot or basically anything. WELL let me tell you, I was VERY pleasantly surprised and utterly blown away at the relationships she created in this book. Yes yes the spice was insane and ill get to that in a sec but HOLY F the little found family the 4 boys had pulled at my heart strings SO MUCH. I had no idea they were all bi and it added such a different dynamic to the RH. Although they were all utterly obsessed with Jess, they had these beautiful bonds between them and it was amazing to watch them develop and heal.

Honestly, idk if I could pick a favorite guy. They were all so different and complimented each other so well and I absolutely would not say no to any of them ???? but that being said... Lucas ???? I'm totally a sucker for the broken bad boy who hates feelings and lashes out when he's scared.... oh and switches like a MFing champpppp ???? Manson was obviously ????, Jason was a super complex character that I really enjoyed watching blossom, and Vincent was just allll the big feels. And tbh I REALLY enjoyed Jess. She had potential to be super annoying but her character arc was done beautifully.

Now the spice *bites knuckles* This is easily the spiciest, k!nkiest book I've read so far. Name a k!nk... its in here. Pick an accessory... its in here. There are SO MANY scenes I couldn't even keep track and every single one is different and completely mind blowing. I checked several boxes for "things I've never read before" ???? and basically was a puddle for the entire 1000 pages. But that aside I need to mention how AMAZING Harley wrote the dom/sub relationships. They had purpose and so much care, it was part of their growth/healing and it was so special.

Basically if you don't read this...you're missing out. ????‍♀️

???????????????? ???????? ???????????? ????????????????:
- MMMMF
- Broken outcast boys
- Popular cheerleader
- Small town drama
- Found Family
- Dares & debts
- ALLLLLLL THE K!NKS. Literally every single one
- Beautiful, heart warming, healing relationships

I’m one of those pain in the butt readers that likes to be contrary and assumes popular books are overhyped. I’m usually correct about this, but not this time. I was happily beyond impressed by Losers:Part 1 by Harley Laroux.

The story is so interesting because there are time jumps and they aren’t just in high school. I’m really not into academy/high school/even college set books. No shame on liking them, they just never work for me. Anyways, it was interesting to see the past between Jess and the four guys. I like that she was a bully, but smart enough and aware enough to not be a damsel in distress when her past actions come back to haunt her. It’s rare to find a book with a high level of smũt and an actual plot. Not only did this book have an intriguing and twisting plot, but there was dynamic character development. Lots of fun schminks explored and I enjoyed the scenes, even if they aren’t my preferred type of play. I highly recommend for fans of spicy, schminky, thrilling dark romances. As always please check triggers and tropes before reading the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Probably more than I should have, but who cares. I did read the short, The Dare, prior to reading, and I agree that it should be read before this book.Though it isn't necessary for the story, if you want the extra fun with no spoilers, it definitely needs to be read first. Glad that I did.

The world building in this book is on point. The reader really gets a feel for the town, the division, the anger, the attitude. You can really picture the kind of town it is and it's people. The author does a great job of showing the reader the settings, not telling the reader.

The character development was fairly well done. I feel as though Jess and Manson are the most well fleshed out of the characters, but I do admit that may also be a result of having read The Dare first, since these two characters were the majority of that short. Jason, Lucas, and Vincent didn't feel quite as fleshed out, at least initially. Toward the beginning of the story, it was a bit difficult to keep them a part. They each acted very similarly, spoke similarly. However, as the story progressed, they really seemed to become individuals. Jess also experiences, in my opinion, the most character growth throughout the story. She really starts to think for herself, begin to understand herself. That said, there is still good character growth of all of the main characters, such as with Lucas and his feelings.

And of course there is also the story itself. A great premise, I think. Fun, sm€xy, and a little wild. Although toward the beginning, how the guys respond to one incident in particular was more then just a little hard to believe (not trying to spoil here), the rest of the story played out fairly believably. I really enjoyed the interactions between each of the characters, how it plays into the story, and just the emotion that feels palpable.

And for those into some really good smūt. Well, check your triggers, there's some great stuff in here. Some scenes were more intense than others, but I think all were done very well. True to reality, not necessarily, but well-written nonetheless.

Suffice it to say, I am definitely looking forward to starting Losers Pt 2.
