5.0 out of 5 stars I said Cora Rose has my heart and I meant it

Going through Cora Rose's backlist has been interesting. There's not that normal point of seeing an author's growth as their books continue. Cora Rose was already great right out the gate so there wasn't much to improve on. Her writing is really solid and her storytelling very thorough. She tells really heartfelt opposite attracts contemporary romances that are funny at times but also really angsty and emotional. I love it and I'm not even a fan of contemporary. If you do like contemporary you'll no doubt absolutely adore these books.

The only criticism I can see people saying is these books are all the same. I would highly disagree. Yes they're opposite attracts and yes their emotional and angsty but the stories are always different and the characters very distinct. Theo is not a carbon copy of Whit and his relationship with Logan (good Lord I hate that name) is not at all Whit's relationship with Caleb. The upside is if you like one book you're going to like all the others.

I don't have much to say about a new adult contemporary other than the fact that it does a good job putting a twist on the jock/ nerd trope. I loved how swoonie Logan was and I loved how Curie was treated as real character and not an afterthought. The hype is real. Five stars because Logan and Theo are giving Caleb and Whit a run for their money as my favorite Cora Rose couple. Which isn't very fair because exactly they're poor.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from @coraroseromance if it wasn’t part of the “Unexpected” series. Thankfully, it didn’t disappoint.

Logan was ridiculous and obnoxious at first, but you learn to love him, and fast. Theo was a total emo dumpster fire of issues but we learn that he deserves all the love and cuddles his cat won’t give him. Also, kudos to the author for writing a cat exactly how a cat should be written. Bitchy, quixotic, and entirely unattainable but somehow still a main character.

This book is definitely a @coraroseromance , in that sexuality is treated as naturally and acceptably fluid & every family has multiple queer kids in it ????

But hey, my family has 2/2 queer kids AND I totally recall my bi-awakening being more of a “huh, this is hot, not sure why I didn’t consider this before” type moment (a La Logan in this story), so, you know, I connect with these stories.

Sweet, steamy, hot, and full of humor, this book was hard to put down. I did get a little eye-rolly at Theo, I mean dude, he’s so, so insecure…but what’s a good romance without angst? Poor Theo single-handedly delivers the angst in this one.

I really want to read that journal, and I can’t wait to read Landon & Finn’s story next. Logan’s right, they’ve GOT to be doing it…

This book was just beautiful. I was sucked in, and it wouldn't let me go. I was a little taken back by how confident Theo was at first and how jerkish he seemed. It all makes sense when you find out more about him. He's the quiet need and the best tutor. Logan is an athlete and the one all the girls want. He's never even thought about doing things with a guy before, but getting to know Theo changes that. Logan has to break down walls on Theo and prove that he's not like the ones before him. Theo has been hurt before and is hesitant to trust Logan.
What I love about this book is that Logan refuses to let Theo sulk and gets him out of his comfort zone. Logan has issues of his own and has to come to terms with it.
These two compliment each other really well. I loved how they were just able to tell each other anything and despite Theo trying to fight it at first, they just work.
This was just an incredible book that I loved a lot!! I will definitely read more from this author. Oh and the steamy scenes are kinda fade to black at times but they have fun while doing it. Logan gets way into it at first lol

I typically don’t like how Cora Rose books start but love them in the end. This one not so much. A few minor spoilers ahead: Theo is very defensive and cold and super scared to trust even though Logan is super nice and trustworthy and caring. Even till the bitter end Theo can’t find an ounce of happiness in his luck and believes the worst in people. And I didn’t think the bullying in his past was enough to make him the way he was. I kept waiting for something to happen but the story just ends when the tutoring ends and Theo assumes Logan will crush him and leave like it was all fake… and Logan basically says you’re an idiot. The end. I didn’t feel the chemistry either. Or why Logan would want forever with Theo.

This was such an amazing story of finding oneself, healing, and love. This is my first book from this author and I love the writing. I was laughing almost every chapter - Logan is hilarious!!! ???? And the inner monologues are so real. I love how Theo's character slowly unfolds and he steps into his confidence. When they're together there's so much chemistry (pun intended ????) and the spice ???????????????? had me going back to read again it was so hot. Can't wait to read more from this author ????

I loved this book almost as much as I loved Whit which is my favorite Cora Rose book. Honestly all of Cora’s books are amazing. Can’t go wrong with any of them.

I’ve seen a lot of not so flattering reviews on this book and I wanted to give my opinion of this story.

First, keep in mind Lucas had a choice whether he got tutoring from Theo or not. He’s a grown man of 22. He could have went to another tutor. This was NOT a non consensual situation at all. Was he only with women up until then? Yes. Was he scared and a bit curious? Yes. Did he choose to be tutored by Theo for the payment that was requested? He sure did.

I read to escape my own life and my own thoughts, that is why I love stories that are so far from my own world. This book was great, people who care for you help to heal you. The family and side characters were so fun.

I love Cora’s books and this one is another one I will read again! Also, when authors add a pet as a character, I am here for it. Much love to Queen Curie! ????????
