I’m gonna be completely honest, I don’t know if I’ve ever read a stepbrothers romance book before. But now that I have? I think I just might read more.

Ash & Jules

I knew Ash and Jules’s story would be a must read for me once I saw they were step brothers. Sign. Me. Up. Toss in enemies to lovers and I am all in. Cue complicated feelings, animosity, meanness, brat-tastic attitudes and forced proximity and you have an explosive connection. This read almost as two books for me – the hate and the more. I loved the chemistry between Ash and Jules as their relationship began to develop. Once their relationship started to develop, I really got sucked into their story. They were quite sweet with each other, and I got a bit swoony at bits. A big detractor for me with the story was the absolute worst parents to ever parent, and it took me out of the story quite a bit. It made me very glad these two found and had each other for sure!

Is it wrong when you read a good story and it ends, that you wish you could revisit its characters again? I hope not, because after spending several nights reading this story, I have become so invested in Jules, Ash, their relationship, and their family dynamic, that I’m certain I would love to know more. Life after college, Ash’s Dad’s campaign, more love, more alone fun, maybe a wedding? Even if this is the end, There are so many questions, and that’s what happens when someone crafts a good story, full of relatable characters and a little bit of magic. Thanks Willow Dixon, and if you ever feel like revisiting these guys, I definitely want to know.

Jules and Ash are forced together as stepsiblings after their parents wrecked both of their homes. It wasn't an ideal situation and this cause a lot of animosity and hatred between the two boys. Flash forward 5 years and their parents are forcing them into a roommate situation for their last year of college. Let the sparks ensue.
Ok so the thing I liked most about this book was that both of these guys got pretty vulnerable and emotional with each other and I love that. I love a man who can express his feelings ????. I also am a fan of the forced proximity trope and the comfort trope, which this book has. The thing I didn't like....was the pacing of development in the book. The beginning started off well, but then the relationship development hit warp speed and it just felt very lacking in any real development that was believable. I also think there were a lot of gaps and plot holes that could have been touched on better. This wasn't a bad book, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. I don't love instalove type feelings in books (granted this wasn't exactly that, but the pacing was honestly fairly similar) because I want there to be real depth. Ash and Jules were sweet as pie though and I loved their characters, especially together!

This book was SPICY and the angst!! This was top notch! Ash and Jules are relationship goals. I definitely had moments where I wanted to b*tch slap their parents though. Felt the ending was a little rushed though. Would love more about their future and even a story about Liv and her girlfriend

I am absolutely obsessed with MM books and Ash and Jules have some major major chemistry! From the first few scenes where Ash realized how jealous he was over Jules, and then how protective he gets over Jules to how in love they are. I also wanted to reach through the pages and punch their parents in the face, I secretly hoped they would get custody of their little sister, but the ending satisfied my desire to have them being caretakers for their siblings. I hope to see these two again in later books! Bravo!

Step brothers isn’t really an instant read for me, but this one is highly recommended on a big FB group so I figured I’ll check it out and I’m glad I did. I love every bit of it.
I want an honest to goodness animosity when it comes to enemies to lovers trope. I want to feel like I want to smack both MCs because they’re too mean or they’re too dumb. I want to be kept on my toes as to how the writer is going to bring them together.
This book delivers and so much more. It makes you want to hug Ash and Jules. And it makes you want to smack their “parents” upside the head. Hurt/Comfort is becoming one of my favorite trope now and there’s so much of that in this book.
It’s a great mix of steam, sweet, animosity, and a hopeful reconciliation to those who really don’t deserve it.. but it mirrors what happens in real life.. familial relationships and friendships.
Five stars and more.

Ash and Jules are everything . their conversations felt so natural and real . I enjoyed them discovering each other and their kinks . It was a great read although the parents were just too terrible . And after all they been through with their parents, to still try and force this uncomfortable not really there relationship is bs imo. Even in all the effed up that is their family they still go back to their hometown ??? Idk I just would have loved for Jules and Ash to be on their own them two not worried about money and expectations of family or wondering why their family doesn’t love them instead of them begging and bargaining and being used in order for someone too . I find the reconciliation with the parents very unsatisfying .
