About this item

Julian
When did fake-then-real dating an ancient vampire become the easy part?
Casimir’s ridiculously sweet now that he’s conquered “the art of the flirt,” as he calls it. He tries hard to fit in with my family—if we forget about those silly threatening chocolates he sent my father—and he even makes me popcorn… okay, he tried. I know, I know, I’m just bragging at this point.
Everything is perfect until we stumble upon a half-dead vampire who is being hunted by someone. And I’m afraid the person hunting him knows all about Casimir’s history. Casimir has fought so hard to drive the darkness away, but we both know that he needs to bury his past… one last time.

Casimir
I never saw myself in a relationship, let alone with a pesky werewolf. He’s funny and sweet, has questionable friends, and phenomenal taste in dog bandanas. After five hundred years, I think I’ve finally convinced myself that I deserve this.
However, someone else isn’t quite certain I do. Julian has assured me that it’s time to move forward, but when there’s a masked man waiting in the shadows for me, I find it hard to ignore my past mistakes.
But I have something I didn’t have the last time I faced him.
Someone who loves me.

Dire Straits and Entwined Fates
has a cheerful werewolf who seems to have an aversion to clothes; a vampire leader who overuses speedy delivery services; board games with a little too much exhibitionism; and animals that are too cute to be eaten.

I adore this couple more and more with each story. The happy, sappy wild and his fierce, fanged vampire. This plot is great- lots of guessing as to who the real bad guy is. It’s not as black and white as you’d think! Life is a range of greys with a rainbow thrown in on accident. Great plot, characters and a smooth pacing that keeps you reading …just one more page.

Between the snark doled out by the werewolf and the crazy cast of characters, the story did hold together. There were terrible flash backs, lots of action and not a few laughs, this was what I've come to expect of an Alice Winters book. Thanks for the ride.

Wow. What a journey. Unfortunately for Casimir his secret past comes back to haunt him. I really enjoyed getting the whole back story on Casimir and his odd behavior. This book really builds on the relationships formed in book one. We delved a little deeper into many of the characters and the story came together beautifully. Let's not forget the insane humor Alice brings to her tales. I laughed so hard reading this book. Julian and Ezio are the best sort of comedic relief. That said there was also some emotional trauma that really hit me in the feels. One of the best parts was the super hot sexy times. I'm here for it. Also Cyrus might be softening toward Ezio and I cant wait for their book next. Long story short, Alice writes great books, go read them.

Dire Straits and Entwined Fates is an excellent continuation of the Fanged Mistakes series.
Seeing all these characters brought me so much joy. I can always count on this author to make me laugh, but I'm also often tense and on the edge of my seat. This exciting dichotomy grabs my attention, creating a fresh and unique reading experience every time. I've got to say, I love it!
Julian and Casimir's relationship is still going strong. They play beautifully off of each other. Their interactions and those involving different characters are often ridiculous, but always funny. Even the stressful and dangerous scenes have elements of humor to make the bad times easier to take.
Flashbacks helped this particular storyline along by showing how much Casimir endured and suffered in his previous life. I felt so much closer to him this time, and seeing him open up more to Julian was lovely.
Julian and his clothes optional scenes kept me giggling. Between those and "The Many Faces of Gustov," I kept a smile on my face.
There are many sneaky laugh-out-loud moments to go along with the more obvious ones. And the many action scenes had me hyperfocused and wound up as I waited for the resolution.
DSEF is an entertaining read that I hated to see end.
I look forward to more from this author.

I really enjoyed this book, the humor, the tears, the new and ever so whacky characters, and of course Gustav! Can't wait to see what's next?

4.0 out of 5 stars This series is fun

Just like the first in the series, the werewolves and vampires are ridiculous and funny. Dog portraits on demand, werewolves being puppified - well one anyway - and the continued general tormenting for fun between the vamps and weres are just as entertaining as the antics from before.
This one does have some heavier parts though, as Casimir’s past has come back to haunt him. He, and the rest of who associate with him, are in danger.

Casimir and Julian are one of my favorite couples by this author so I was absolutely thrilled they were getting another book. I loved every minute of this! We pick up where book 1 left off with Casimir and Julian happy and in love and it was such a joy to see them together.  We got a lot more sexy times than usual and they were so hot but had the trademark humor and comfort mixed in just perfectly. We get to learn about Casimir's past here as well, which has come back to haunt him and is the driving force behind the action throughout. Once again, we are treated to humor, action, mystery, love, and friendship, all woven together expertly to deliver a thoroughly enjoyable book. Highly recommend this series and look forward to the next story!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fanged Mistakes - Julian & Casamir are Amazing!

Gah I absolutely love Julian. He is hilarious, sweet and so funny Casamir is his perfect complement. They are adorable and entertaining to the max. This story continues to build from the 1st book, where you get to learn more and more about characters and dig deeper into what’s going on. Alice Winters is absolutely incredible in writing a story that holds together interest and you just never can guess what will happen. I loved this book. There is drama, spice, mystery and a ton of giggles. Highly recommend!
