CBS NEW YORK BOOK CLUB PICK Daphne and Amber Parrish are thrust back into each other’s lives upon the resurgence of a long-forgotten threat, forcing a vicious game of cat and mouse where everything is on the line.
Amber Patterson Parrish has come a long way. Hard work and immaculate planning turned her from invisible wallflower to prominent socialite, though there have been bumps along the way. Less than a year after her husband Jackson’s tax-evasion scandal, Amber reigns supreme over the Bishops Harbor community. But with Jackson being released from prison, Amber’s free time—and money—is vanishing.
Meanwhile, Daphne Parrish left Bishops Harbor after her divorce from Jackson, swearing she would never go back. But when one of her daughters runs away from home, desperate to see her father, Daphne agrees to return for the summer for their daughters’ sake. Jackson swears he’s a changed man, but Daphne knows all too well that he can’t be trusted.
When a ghost from Amber’s past emerges looking for revenge, these three figures find unlikely allies in one another. But who is playing who? When all is said and done, they’ll have to fight tooth and nail for everything they have left in this zero-sum game.
With shocking turns and entertaining characters, The Next Mrs. Parrish will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about duplicity and betrayal.

This book has all the intrigue, scheming and twists with a nice bow tied up on a pretty package at the end.
Amber/Lana may be smart and thorough but her narcissism gets in the way. She’s so hellbent on hurting people that were hurt by her in addition to her undying greed she gets what she deserves. Jackson and Amber were cut from the same cloth. They think of people as possessions or stepping stones, a way to boost their image. Jackson is right about one thing when it came to Daphne and that is she’s pure hearted. She makes mistakes from the very beginning bc she is always thinking of how to protect her children even if it’s not good for her. Her eldest daughter Talulah is a young teen and wants to see her dad. She doesn’t remember how cold and cruel he could be. She has been secretly talking to Amber behind her mothers back to get in touch with her imprisoned father. Amber being cruel and still so jealous of Daphne, she fills Talulah’s head with lies about her mom. Then there is Daisy Ann - daughter of Jake Crawford who has an unexpected encounter with Amber and humiliates her in front of a crowd of very wealthy people. Amber being the “poor me” victim hood mentality cannot let that slide so she seeks to destroy Daisy Ann instead of leaving well enough alone. But narcissists and sociopaths aren’t able to do that bc their ego is more important than being logical. I loved how the authors finally had Amber/Lana’s past catch up to her. As for Jackson, he really did believe that Daphne belonged to him. After all he’s done, how is it possible that I still felt sorry for him? Spoiler**The one I felt most for was baby Jax. I was truly hoping Daphne would be the one who stepped in to raise him. Some ppl think they’ll be another book but after reading the end, I doubt it. Amber/Lana is on a permanent vacation just as she always dreamed of ????
DESCRIPTION : Amber Patterson Parrish has come a long way from being an invisible wallflower. Her hard work and immaculate planning have paid off now that she’s a prominent socialite, but that doesn’t mean she’s had it easy along the way. Less than a year since her husband Jackson’s tax evasion scandal, Amber is still at the top of the Bishops Harbor community pecking order, free to do as she wishes while Jackson sits in prison. But that freedom is quickly coming to an end. With Jackson getting released from prison, Amber’s time—and money—is vanishing. Meanwhile, Daphne Parrish left Bishops Harbor after her divorce from Jackson Parrish, swearing she would never go back. But when her daughter, Tallulah, runs away from home, desperate to see her father, Daphne agrees to return for the summer to allow him supervised visits. Once out of prison, Jackson swears he’s a changed man but Daphne knows all too well that Jackson can’t be trusted. When a ghost from Amber’s past emerges looking for revenge, the three of them find unlikely allies in one another, but who is playing who? When all is said and done, they’ll have to fight tooth and nail for everything they have left in this zero-sum game.
REVIEW :
Very consistent author. Previous books by this author (really two sisters!) were The Senator’s Wife (‘23 - 3.5 Stars), Stranger in the Mirror (‘21 - 5 Stars), The Wife Stalker ('20 - 4 Stars), The Last Time I Saw you ('19 - 3 Stars) and The Last Mrs. Parrish ('17 - Read '18 - 5 Stars).

Early indications make me think this will be a merry-go-round of who is trying to get revenge on who. Oh well, hop on for the ride ! Lots of suspense and kept me guessing. Good ending. Even though its been 7 years since the first book, I feel it could definitely be read as a standalone since the authors do a good job at covering the past histories.
Liv Constantine
THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH is the third installment in Liv Constantine’s bestselling series. I recommend you start at the beginning with THE LAST MRS. PARRISH and you could probably skip the prequel that’s all about Amber’s backstory. But why would you want to?
It’s all good fun!
It seemed from our last time with the Parrish wives that Amber had won, well kind of. She got the man and the house and the fancy gowns and even fancier places to go in them. But we all know who the real winner was.
Left wondering if Daphne would ever get her revenge and this book, THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH is as close to that as we’re going to get, for now.
Seven years later and I still like the original installment in this series the best. I have a lot of fun with these characters and this series is one of my favorites. I can never guess where Constantine is going to go with her storylines, and I enjoy the mystery as much as I enjoy the intrigue.
Bringing a new character to the group was a great way to keep the original parts of the story while introducing a new character to bring in new life. And give us someone else to either align with or root against. Similar to bringing in a new housewife on Bravo’s Real Housewives series, bringing in a new character also provides a plethora of new dynamics to work with.
I liked this installment and had a lot of fun with it.
