This book is great!
I was diagnosed as having Prostate Cancer. In April 2016 I had a Prostatectomy and everything is fine now. We were in the process of moving during my recovery and I was changing jobs. I had a lot going on to say the least. Due to my substantial less coverage health insurance, I paid a considerabe amount on medical bills. Thank you Mr. ex-President.
I have never missed a payment on anything and I'm 61 years old. I usually have between a 750 to 800 score. I make well into the 6 digit and I have truly been blessed. Not bragging, I just want everyone reading this that it wasn't about the money.
I keep pretty close tabs on my credit report and was checking it one day. I noticed that I had two collections on my report from the same company. I called the original company and they wouldn't talk to me and referred to the debt collector. I called the collection agency and explained my situation and that I never received a bill. I know, they probably here that a lot... They told me per our State's Law, they only had to attempt to make contact one time and they did. I ask if they had my previous address instead of my new one and my current phone number and they had both. I asked if they had my phone number and he said that they did. I told him that I would pay the $238 and $462 bills immediately if they would remove it from my credit. He replied they couldn't do it and it didn't make any difference to them if I paid or not, but it wasn't coming off my credit report. I paid the guy the money, because that's what I do, and sure enough it showed paid, but with the 2 derogatory remrks from the same original company. This guy was sarcastic too to top it off.
Fast forward a few months and I wanted to buy a new truck. I checked my credit to see what my score was because it took a nose dive in to the low 600's on TransUnion and Equifax, but not experian. My Experian score was in the mid 700's. That's how much a couple of negative remarks for a small amount of money can cause. Like I previously mentioned, there has been no negative marks on my credit dating back to the 1980's. Luckily my Credit Union, MSUFCU, only uses Experian. I was able to get a $60k loan at 2.79%, in the form of a ready check before I purchased my new truck.
I was still p---ed off about the negative marks. I was doing some research and found, How to Boost Your Credit Score 100+ Points in 30 Days, authored by Brian Diez. I read it from front to back and new quite a bit more than I thought I would, but here's is where it got Good! Day 21 - Pay for Deletion on Page 37 (on my Kindle App), "Here's how it works..." Although I had already paid the collection agency and Brian clearly states that it needs to be before you pay the creditor. I thought, what the heck, I will give it a try. I did exactly what he told me all the way down to the mailing instructions and where I had requested the collection agency to respond to my certified letter within 30 days. I haven't received a letter from them, but the deroagtory marks have both been removed from both TransUnion and Equifax. Spend the little bit of money and get this book. It will be worth every penny and should cost more for the information that it has in it.
All I can say is, "Thank you Brian Diez for making my sleep better andfor me not having to worry about that crap on my now again untarnished Credit Report".
Good luck, Dale
One last thing, in the future if I buy something on credit, I will check who they pull the credit report from. TransUnion and Equifax had been notified by me that the two negative marks shouldn't be on my report. I will only do business with sellers that use TransUnion. Also, check out MSUFCU. They have been great to me through the years and seem like great people working there.
It still
