Slow to start then hard to put down

I struggled to get through the first few chapters and admit that the characters were initially difficult to warm up to... but now I wonder if that was on purpose considering how it all came together. I found myself sometimes hating and other times relating to the main character, Ellie. I also love a book that allows me to experience different places while telling a good story and appreciate that this one traversed multiple cities and countries. Lots of twists and turns that made it very difficult to put down until the end!

Great read full of plot twist you never see coming and jaw dropping end. Story keeps you engaged beginning to end. Another awesome book from Loreth.

This is one of Loreth White's better books, in my opinion. The more of her books I read the more I see that she is very talented when presenting a mystery novel. I think anyone who love t
o read good mystery novels will love this one. I'm going to look for more of her books.

Slower start, good finish

I love this author. She writes fantastic, deep, twisty who-done it's. This book took a minute to get going but once it did pick up speed so did the characters and events and details and twists.
Really good ending. Dark and deep. Where did the money go?

A big fan but disappointed in this one

I like Loreth Ann White. She develops her characters very well and typically weaves an interesting plot with a few twists and turns before a final unexpected twist that generally has me smiling and thinking "Wow, I didn't see that coming". This novel wasn't up to her usually good story telling. I had trouble reading this book as it seemed mired in too much detail that wasn't essential. She does like to repeat key points on occasion, but I found myself wondering if I should keep reading this one as it really bogged down in the middle. In the end, my feeling is that this story could have been told in a much cleaner and faster style. Sometimes, I think authors feel that a novel has to be X number of pages and they end up putting in too much non-essential detail. That is what this book felt like to me. I would not recommend this book, but I do recommend this author. She has written a lot of books. My advice is to search for her name and then read about the story and read the reviews. Pick out the best of her works and you'll be delighted as I have been - just not with this one.

Wow, this was a good one! I love the way Loret Anne White brings us into the minds of her characters in a very realistic way. Most authors do not, cannot, get into all the layers of the human psyche, but Loreth does. Excellent read, had me on the edge of my seat!

Loteth Anne White has gotten me time and time again. So far I have read 5 of her books and she is now my favorite author.

This book is an absolute page turner and it kept me guessing.
