Imagine you go to a restaurant to have dinner. You tell the waiter you want a sirloin steak. The waiter returns, giving you a plate. On the plate is a piece of paper. The paper says "Sirloin steak." It then adds a few adjectives describing a sirloin steak. Would you think that you have had a good dinner? I don't know about you, but I would not.
Well, the situation is the same with this book. It gives you ZERO Upanishads. Instead, it tells you a bit of a story of how the Upanishads came to be. The story is nice, and so is the story describing the sirloin steak. But I would rather have a steak than a piece of paper. Especially if I were hungry.
If you want to actually read the Upanishads, search "112 Upanishads" by Joshi. There, you will find a book which actually has the contents of the Upanishads in it. The Vedantic teachings go into a great deal of depth concerning reality and illusion. This book here presents only illusion, no reality.
