About this item

Failures don't need to be final, and disappointment doesn't need to be defining. Come along on a wild, hilarious, faith-building ride, and let The Art of Getting It Wrong guide you toward hope for the future and the freedom to love your life exactly where you are.

Long before his YouTube channel, The Miller Fam, became a viral sensation, Stephen Miller got a ton of things wrong. He knows what it's like to endure countless failed endeavors, make too many rash decisions, and feel deep discouragement when life doesn't go as planned--sometimes all before breakfast. But those experiences taught him a powerful lesson: it's going to be okay.

With the characteristic authenticity, love, and humor Stephen shows in his YouTube videos, The Art of Getting It Wrong offers timeless truths and never-before-told stories of misadventures and out-of-control disappointments that will encourage you to:

  • See the good at work in your life, even when you make mistakes
  • Look for the laugh in every situation
  • Embrace the truth--whether it's a warm hug or a kick in the teeth
  • Believe in yourself and grow in your sense of self-worth
  • Discover the power of grace, both for others and for yourself

Join Stephen as he shares what it means to turn failures, mishaps, and disappointments into a life of fun and fulfillment--even when it's not what you expected.

Praise for The Art of Getting It Wrong:

"With his trademark passion, humor, and optimism, Stephen Miller brings an important and timely message for us in The Art of Getting It Wrong. We all need a friend who can remind us that it's going to be okay, even when life's disappointments, failures, or deep hurts threaten to pull us down."

This book made me laugh and made me weep. It brings out all the emotions that make a book a great read. Stephen’s book chronicles real- life experiences and the reader can easily relate. He makes it okay to be vulnerable. Stephen juxtaposes his struggles and triumphs and through his faith you are able to see how he has been victorious.
If you are ready to laugh, and weep and purge those things that are just below the surface, then Stephen’s fun, and raw accounts of his life with his amazing family will help you to be braver about uncovering your own ‘stuff!’.

I love this book because it is easy to read, and because it’s so relatable. There’s a lesson, and a laugh on every page. We need more books like this!

As an avid reader, I could not put this book down! It held my interest from the beginning to the end. Every night I look forward to watching The Miller Family on YouTube, and now after reading Stephen Miller's book, I enjoy watching their family events even more. It truly touched my heart to read about Stephen Miller's stories regarding his mishaps, childhood bullying, life-and-death experiences, and growing up as a young kid who helped support his mother.

I have read a lot of books in my 62 years, and this one is a MUST READ! The chapters are filled with good, honest humor that is written from the heart. You go, Stephen Miller! And thank you for sharing your life with truth, honesty and transparency as a solid Christian man. You should be so proud of yourself!

May God bless you and your beautiful family. You all have touched my heart!

Let me start by saying, I had no clue if this book was going to be good or not. You see I pre-ordered the book because I follow Stephen and his family on you tube and I love their channel so why not support his new book. June 7th finally came and I received the book. Again being honest I didn't pick it up for days. Lol.. when I finally did I couldn't put it down. Stephen had me laughing out loud, he is funny, getting teary because I could so relate to something he mentioned. This book is so real, it takes you down the journey of his life and reminds you noone is perfect. We all get anxiety at 1 thing or another, we all procrastinate at some point and deal with the consequences later. Maybe not $2500 worth but we do. I truly absolutely loved this book. Thank you Stephen for sharing your journey and reminding us life is all about " The art of getting it wrong".

I am glad I purchased this book. Stephen Miller writes stories that are not only insightful, but hilarious. Reading through felt like a breeze and the way Stephen writes makes it feel like he's in the room with you. He's not talking at you, but with you. It feels personal and fun reading about his experiences. It was also heartwarming hearing such encouraging words from a dad's perspective. So much positivity and inspiration from this book. Give it a read. You will not regret it!

The Art of Getting it Wrong offers a light-hearted take on some deep perspectives of life and faith. Stephen, through humor, experience, and vulnerability, shares that we are all human, and we are inevitably going to fail; but through failure, challenges, and mistakes, we learn and grow. Overall, the message is that, no matter what, you are not your failures, and “It’s gonna be okay.” I recommend journaling along as you read; especially focus on: the failures that you are not, and what would really matter in your life if tomorrow, next week, or next month was your last. This book is a lesson on self-reflection, giving yourself grace, and learning as you go.

This was an amazing book. I love the humor in it. I read it when I was quarantined from COVID and pneumonia. It helped me get through the loneliness. The only bad thing was it made me laugh which is not so good when you cough every time you laugh. ????
I recently purchased it on audio. Stephan's voice is very soothing and just makes you feel good.
