About this item

Much of university life is controlled by subsidized paranoiacs, amateur psychotherapists, neo-Marxist totalitarians, “student affairs professionals” imbued with authoritarian mentality, and racialist thought reformers who run workshops that destroy family ties and traditional beliefs to clear the way for new relationships grounded in racialist ideology. These are the brutal minds who threaten and abuse students in the name of an academic fraud called “antiracist pedagogy”.

In Brutal Minds, award-winning Professor Stanley K. Ridgley exposes the dangers of radicalization, cancel culture, academic censorship, and the growing influence of socialists “boldly transforming” colleges across the country into reeducation camps of dull conformity.

An educational charade masks activities and ideology as dangerous as those that inspired Communist China’s tragic cultural revolution. This book strips away the façade of the modern American university to reveal the malignant bureaucratic viscera inside the institution. It is a dark world, an anti-intellectualist sanctuary where brutal minds find purpose, protection, camaraderie, subsidy, and power.

Dr. Ridgley’s book calls us to action to halt this anti-intellectual takeover of higher education and to restore the greatness of one of Western civilization’s most brilliant creations, the American university.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for parents and college students!

I have a friend who raised her two children well. They had good values and appreciated living in a free country ... until they graduated from college. Both kids turned into angry America haters. Both were Marxists. My friend was heartbroken. "Where did I go wrong," she thought. Well, the answer is here in this book.

The indoctrination culprits primarily come from Student Affairs. This came as a surprise to me. I graduated from college in the early 1990's, and it was easy to ignore Student Affairs back then. Most of the time, I studied or hung out with my friends. This book taught me it's very different today. Student Affairs have become a massive bureaucracy and permeate every aspect of college life. Hence they are almost impossible to ignore.

Dr. Ridgley provides details about their brainwashing techniques, which are exactly the same techniques used by communists and cults. Sounds far-fetched, right? No, it's real, and Dr. Ridgley documents it very well. He's certainly done his homework. Watch out for the recruitment buzzwords: "diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racist," and more.

If you're like me, you're thinking, "Oh come on. Are you saying it's one big conspiracy?" Well, yeah, you could say that. Keep in mind that people in Student Affairs tend to recruit vulnerable like-minded people for their mission--people who desperately want their lives to matter. Before you know it, you have a whole army of groupthink Marxists hell bent on changing the world. It's important to note that these people are no scholars. Indeed their credentials are quite mediocre, which is probably a big reason they are so easily indoctrinated.

What to do? Dr. Ridgley provides ways to combat this indoctrination at the end of his book. Is your child going off to college or already in college? Will they be that superstar who challenges the Marxists in Student Affairs? Will he/she lead a freedom movement on campus? How about you professors? If you have a knowledge of history and an iota of critical thinking skills, you must know what's happening is wrong. Will you speak out? Will you be brave?

Purchaser reviews sometimes affect my purchase decisions; particularly when the low score and negative or critical comments of those who found the product unsatisfactory seem honest and legitimate. But I seldom rate or comment on my purchases here or through other suppliers.

However, this book, Brutal Minds: The Dark World of Left-Wing Brainwashing in Our Universities, by Stanley K. Ridgley Ph.D., May 16, 2023, Humanix Books, West Palm Beach, FL deserves comment.

I purchased this book, despite the severity of the reviews of the four (1-star) and the one (2-star) ratings.

Before ordering, I assumed that the sound of Dr. Ridgley’s words rang too loudly in some echo chambers and his words shown too brightly in the mirrors of some reviewers.

After reading Brutal Minds I am satisfied with my assumptions, although some elements of the negative reviews are not without merit. The thesis and charges are repeated throughout the book and the charges are sometimes harsh. But, like mine, their opinions are their opinions.

More than likely, Ridgley’s alert applies to your children’s primary and secondary education as well as their college/university experience.

I wish that I had known of this book when it was published in 2023. Having completed the book in August 2024, I will say that the positive reviewers, although chided by the negative reviewers, are, for the largest part, spot on. I highly recommend Dr. Ridgley's book, Brutal Minds.

5.0 out of 5 stars This exposé sheds light on the infiltration of American universities ...

When I first heard about Dr. Ridgley's book "Brutal Minds" I was looking forward to purchasing a copy. After receiving his book, I was not disappointed. This book describes how the US education system has been under attack by leftist radicals. Through a captivating and astute investigation, this exposé sheds light on the infiltration of American universities by these extremists, ultimately leading to the undermining of fundamental principles such as freedom of speech and freedom of thought. It gives insight into the Neo-Marxist techniques that are used, the origins and tactics, how to identify these tactics and how students and parents can protect themselves and others from the "Brutal Minds". I would like to see a sequel to this book describing how this has and is affecting US industries and the US economy. If you are wondering how Universities are being transformed and who is responsible, this book will help you understand. I highly recommend Dr. Ridgley's book "Brutal Minds."

"I must say that the tasks of the youth in general, and of the Young Communist Leagues and all other organisations [sic] in particular, might be summed up in a single word: learn."
- Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov. (better known by his nom de guerre: Lenin)

But with apologies for the brutally cerebral Mr. Lenin, the part that he left unsaid was "learn TO OBEY".

By now, most of you who have ever bothered looking at your offspring's lesson plans, if they still disclose those things, should know that the creep of communism has, long ago, been the beast that this way slouched. And BRUTAL MINDS is a terrifying summary of the strategy and tactics. You can look to the last 3+ years for real-world samples of how local apparatchiks flex their unmasked power with administrative diktats. And although we may be old enough to raise a middle finger to their agitations, our children are absolutely not. It's why the Comintern instructed the intellectual/economic parasites to start their supplicants from the cradle and classrooms are, and have always been, dictatorships. Thank goodness they're benevolent, right?

Professor Stanley K. Ridgley does a phenomenal job of analysis and synthesis and prescriptions for a possible future. We give endless lip-service to protecting kids from this and that pornography. Intellectual utopian fantasy porn should not get an exemption. BM is one of the best books of the year. Go read it. Report will be due on Mon. :)
