About this item

A world destroyed. An axe to grind. A path to infinite power. Welcome to my reality.

When the cultivators came to Earth, they destroyed our entire civilization in a matter of hours. Armies fell, cities burned, and that was before the moon turned red and filled our world with monsters.

Now, over a decade later, what's left of humanity slaves under the heels of our Qi-infused masters. The luckiest of us might even become one of them, they say—if we serve the Dynasty well enough and harness the power of Qi.

But I want none of that.

I'm sick of serving, and I want nothing to do with their world. Instead, I want them to pay for what they did to mine. Maybe that's why she found me: the fearsome, angry goddess who showed me a different path. Apparently, Qi is not the only route to power.

Now I'll fight to take back my planet, to grow strong enough to beat the cultivators at their own game. Through the power of blood, rage, and pain, I will free humanity or die trying.

For that's the Path of a Berserker.

Path of the Berserker is a progression fantasy novel that contains immortal cultivators, an oppressive intergalactic dynasty, rage-inducing imperial bureaucracy, magical spirit beasts, fantastical martial arts, and one pissed-off MC who's sick of it all. Fans of Western-style cultivation fantasy, post-apocalypse, and xianxia should enjoy.

This is a great book, but it suffers the drawbacks associated with its genre.

This book is action heavy, has a lot going on yet is tightly focused on an interesting character. The action is unique and interesting. The character is engaging. The tension is high throughout but still manages to mount as the book progresses. The tournament arc is handled better than most. There is plenty of tongue-in-cheek humor that smoothes out the tropey-ness of the genre too.

Really a great book…for fans of the genre.

It unfortunately suffers many of the drawbacks that tend to plague the genre. It is long winded, somewhat repetitive and reads like it was written for a serial release on Royal Road. If you’re a fan of the Asian-fu, isekai type genre you will plow through this without noticing. If you aren’t or are unfamiliar this might push you out of the narrative a bit.

I consider this approaching par with Defiance of the Fall or Beware of Chicken. It is really good.

I really enjoyed this story. The setting is a cultivation society colonizes the present day earth, destroys society, and indoctrinates some of younger children. The MC starts weak and gets relatively strong in this book. The cultivation is pretty well done, it is explained thoroughly without being overly wordy. The MC does not get handed anything on a platter and the support characters have their own motivation.

I like the storyline, but I have a hard time with the narrator. I think this story would be so much better if it was narrated by some else. I’ve listened to multiple books narrated by Wayne Mitchell - Every single one I’ve struggle to get through. He likes to shout the story and He fails to bring the stories to life. I’m to the point of allow Alexa to read me the books instead of W. Mitchell.
Overall, I do like the storyline. I would recommend it as well.

Very interesting book on cultivation. I really enjoy some of the morality discussed in the book. I guess the fact that everything was not black and white really improved the story.

Amazing book. Not really sure what else to say. I was put off at first since the MC max didn’t seem to really be going anywhere but then it was a whirlwind of action. Fantastic read.

*Stellar* story, worth far more than asking price. 5☆!
I picked this one up on a whim, based solely on the title & genre. I love Xianxia/Wuxia & after being presented with the premise of a barbarian berserker fighting mystic martial masters, I came to the sudden realization that I've been desperately craving it all my life... & the book delivered. Hot DAMN did it deliver!
Not only is it EXTREMELY well written, the pacing is phenomenal, the story is satisfying, & the length feels CRAZY to me, in comparison to everything else I've read of late. When I read something, I binge read it. When I like a story, I usually blast through a book every 1 or 2 days. This one took me 5+ (in a good way). I can't tell you how many times I looked down at the percentage at the bottom of my kindle app only to be FLOORED by how much was left.
Pick this series up, you won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sick or bored of the cultivation genere read this book anyway

To be honest I was starting to get extremely bored with cultivation novels hell I was starting to get sick of the entire Fantasy genre. That changed when I decided to give this book a chance. It seems I finally found a book with a Willing Hero instead of a the all to common and whiny unwilling Hero. That alone would have earned it 5 stars from me, as I finally get to read about a hero who sets their goals and kicks the @$$ of who ever or whatever is in their way. The other refreshing thing about this book is the lack of the Holy Triangle of fantasy MCs; Deep moral truth searching; Feeling guilty or taking responsibility for things outside of their control; and last but not least self flagulation over the aforementioned things out their control. Pretty much every Fantasy book I've ever read has a MC that fits perfectly in that Triangle with these three points permiating the book, often times for far too many pages of MC whining. This books MC was a huge exemption. While he had moments of weakness and failure he never stopped kicking @$$. This book has easily shot in to my top 5 favorite books. Worth the read and I'm instantly reading the next book. Great work by the Author. Seriously can't recommend this book enough

I like the new take on Dao and Cultivation story. Have the earth conquered by cultivators and martial artists piqued my interest when I first read the sample pages. The more I read the more I wanted to know more. I could not put the book down. So I bought the book and finished the story and I was not disappointed. Max is a character who grows, not just in strength but in personality.

He remembers the trauma of the invasion and the family he lost. He's not the perfect hero and not every idea he has goes his way. But he has learned to adapt and think fast on his feet. Every fight and battle is a struggle to overcome, and the more he learns the stronger he becomes. But Max faces an entire galactic empire which has existed for thousands of years. I can't wait to read more books to see how one man can take on a galactic empire.

    A wonderful story.
