About this item
Sebastian
Blood. Torture. Murder. They've been my only companions for centuries. I haven't needed or wanted anything else.
Until I see Matty smile. Then something in me, something that's been dormant for centuries, begins to reawaken.
Matty doesn't belong in my world. He's loving, innocent, and full of joy. The darkness of my life would corrupt him in a heartbeat, but when he's dragged into it against his will, nothing can stop me from delivering my personal brand of justice.
Matty keeps fighting for things I can't give him, for things I'm no longer capable of. I can't come between him and his family. I can't give him what he needs.
But I also can't stay away from him.
Matty
I'm surrounded by couples in love.
Once, I thought that'd be me, that I'd be swept off my feet and experience the kind of epic love you only see in movies. Now, I know better.
A horrific night taught me to look for other things in a partner. Someone predictable. Safe. Stable. Sebastian is anything but.
Everyone tells me to stay away from him, but I don't understand their concerns. How can he be a villain when all he's shown me is kindness?
He makes me want things I thought I'd given up on. Things I'm too scared to admit I still want.
The trouble is, I can't figure out what Sebastian wants. He tells me he can't say no to me, but he won't open up. He says to stay away from him, but he keeps coming around.
One thing is for sure, Sebastian is who I want in my future.
But how can I keep fighting for us if I'm the only one doing it?
Justice is an MM paranormal romance about a grumpy vampire assassin and the sunshine human he can't stay away from. The second in the Damned Connections series, each book will follow a different couple as they find their HEA. Although better listened to in order, these books can stand alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars He Wasn’t Looking For a Mate
Sebastian is so enamored with Matty that he finds it impossible to say no to him or to stay away. Despite the fact that he’s not on good terms with most of Matty’s friends, he gives in and starts seeing him anyway. Sebastian absolutely adores Matty and would do anything to protect him. Unfortunately, he believes that Matty needs protection from him and disappears, leaving Matty broken-hearted. It takes Sebastian’s cousin Toby and Matty’s brother Leo tracking him down to convince him otherwise.
"Justice" is a captivating story that revolves around the life of a grumpy vampire, Sebastian, who has always believed that he doesn't deserve to experience love. However, everything changes when he meets Matty, a sunshiny human, who slowly helps him break down his emotional walls. The author does an excellent job of delving into the backstories of both characters, giving the readers a chance to understand their motivations and personalities on a deeper level.
One of the unique aspects of this book is the slow build-up of the romantic relationship between the two main characters. While it takes a while for Sebastian and Matty to hook up, each scene is written with such detail and intensity that the anticipation keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. Once the two characters finally come together, the steamy scenes are incredibly hot and passionate, making it worth the wait.
Overall, I found "Justice" to be a thoroughly enjoyable read that kept me engaged from beginning to end. The author's writing style is engaging, and the characters are well-developed and relatable. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a captivating and thrilling read. I easily rate "Justice" four and a half stars out of five.
4.0 out of 5 stars Secret Cinnamon Roll
From the few interactions with Sebastian in previous books it was expected that his character was going to have a dark side and some epic grumpiness. But learning just how much of a secret cinnamon roll he is was a lot of fun. If anything my one complaint is I wish there was a bit more of Sebastian’s grumpy / assassin side throughout the book. The first 30% has a lot but once his relationship with Matty develops more most of his angst is shown internally rather than externally.
Tropes: Vampire MC, Secret Cinnamon Roll, Hurt / Comfort (for both MCs), Found Family, Grumpy / Sunshine

5.0 out of 5 stars Beyond amazing!!
I wish I could give this 20 stars. I have loved all the books in this series, but this one tops them all. Be prepared to cry to laugh to swoon. There is just so much amazingness in this book.
This is definitely an emotional roller coaster. And I loved the way that she wrote a part of the book… I’m not trying to spoil anything… But that was so accurate and how we process grief of relationships.
What I love about her books is that she writes really long books that give us all a chance to know the characters really thoroughly, which makes the stories so much better. I’m usually one that likes series so I can follow characters throughout a few books, but the way that Lark Taylor writes her books I don’t need a series because even a standalone feels like an entire series to me. I have Kindle unlimited and so I normally get books through Kindle unlimited only… But I’m definitely buying all of these books because I will read them again and again and again.
This is a standalone but please read the series before and the book, Patience, before this one. They all intertwine and the characters all show up in all of the books. In particular, the main MMC in patience is the brother of one of the main MMCs in this book.
5.0 out of 5 stars Revenge Best Served Cold
Sebastian also stabs people, but they deserved it, whereas my heart is just over here bleeding for Matty. We saw both characters in previous titles in the series, and both roundly deserved their HEA.
Dan Calley continues to provide spectacularly emotional performances, and the dual narration by Will M. Watt (new to me as of this series) is a perfect counterpoint. Also love seeing Leo and Ferry settling into their lives. Looking forward to the next audiobook!
