I am not a reader at all. I’ve bought books in the past and could never really get into them and they end up collecting dust on shelf. This book captured my attention right away and needless to say, I read the entire thing in only 3 weeks! I loved the characters and the realness of the story and challenges. It never got boring. Already purchased another one of her books. Highly recommend! 10/10 :)

Once I started reading.I couldn't stop. A very well written story about pain and healing. Beautiful. I can't wait to see what else the author has written and look forward to reading it.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Unexpected

A rather interesting book in a different sort of way. There was a wide range of characters each of whom faced a situation that presented an opportunity for the reader to learn from them - the wisdom of taking time to think before acting, or not jumping to conclusions, or not keeping secrets, or being honest about one’s feelings, sharing grief, etc. Some of the secrets were current, and others handed down through generations. There was the wisdom of the ages in using nature’s remedies. There was an opportunity to learn about atonement. How do you stand up for the right side when you don’t know the facts of both sides? But that all sounds so serious and it is not. There are interesting characters, humor, exploration of budding love, and a bit of mysterious happenings, and the unexpected around each corner. It will touch your heart.

A beautiful story of mistrust, misunderstanding, trials and grace that could very easily be the story of so many peoples lives. I quickly fell in love with each character and the morals of it all are beautifully written! Quick and easy read and would definitely recommend!

I truly enjoyed reading this novel. It stirs emotions in a good way. The characters are well written and the story moved along at the perfect pace. I looked forward every evening to picking up where I left off.

Loved the personal look at each characters personality which made them more real. Even seemingly minor persons were given the time to become real.

Good ending, but I wanted more. I read this book in one day and am rushing to buy her other books. If you haven’t read “In an Instant “, you need to. Suzanne covers tough scenarios perfectly. Her characters are so real you will be thinking about them weeks later.

I enjoy New England based novels. I like feeling the woodland and the cold water. S. Redfearn depicts nature and emotions very well.
I'm a fast fan. On to another one of hers!
