This is a great ice scrper, easy to hold and effective at removing frost and ice. I have yet to use it on frozen rain, however looking at the design I believe it will be effective at this. The only negatives are it is a bit pricey and it is large to store in the glove box. The large size is a bit of a tradeoff as the large size makes it effective.

Works great, I just wish they’d bothered to design an actual ergonomic grip instead of just slapping a piece of tape on top.

Still, it’s a unique design and being able to put your weight behind it makes it much more effective than regular scrapers.

It slides right through frost. I live in the south, so we don’t encounter thick layers of ice on our vehicles that often- and I haven’t yet since I got this, but I’m satisfied so far. I have noticed that I have to wipe it off a couple of times throughout the course of defrosting all the windows or it doesn’t work as well, but that’s true of every scraper I’ve ever used.
Also, my thumb likes to get stuck in the side when I’m scraping vigorously- but again, not a deal breaker.

I had my first opportunity to use this on ice on my car windows yesterday. It delivered as promised and was very easy to use. On the first stroke the plastic claws took off the heavy ice. On the return stroke the brass blade took the remaining ice down to the windshield. It all worked very naturally and made an unpleasant job fast and easy.

I have other single brass blade scrapers which work great for getting off light ice and snow. (I have been using brass blade scrapers for years and have never scratched any glass on my cars.) This one is different because it cleverly combines a heavy plastic ice scraper with a very effective brass blade scraper all in one piece. No need to scrape the heavy ice with the plastic claws, then come back later to get the ice off the glass. This unit combines the two together and takes it off in two strokes. Something we all need up here in the great white north.

I bought one as a Christmas stocking stuffer a while ago nothing thinking much of it. Found my sister using it the following year and inquired if it was really that good for her to keep it around. She confirmed it was and actually bough 5 more to give back as Christmas stocking stuffers to family - myself included. It's been 2 years and I've also bought 2 more - one for each car and one for the house just in case. Was showing a coworker this last year and they've already bought 2 this year as well. Once you try it, you'll never go back to the old school brush and scrapper!
