5.0 out of 5 stars Very Bight with Decent Beam Pattern, High Quality; Edited to Include Second Review for H11
Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2024
[Note: Second review for H11 Projector and Reflector applications in 1994 Buick Roadmaster Wagon aftermarket headlight assemblies is after the first review for 2016 Acadia with 6012.] 6012 type installed in my Wife's 2016 GMC Acadia. [Please read entire review to properly understand pics.] Time was limited, so I just went to eBay first (a mistake) and picked a set that looked/sounded good with multiple LEDs per bulb. I Picked Ironwalls brand that touted 6-Sided LED; bought two sets to have an extra set as a backup. What I received was only 4-Sided, Ironwalls brand. I figured I would try them since install didn't look too tough. So first pic is the driver side Ironwalls LED 4-sided on high beam (with pass side covered), and second pic is pass side factory halogen (still working ok) on high beam (with drivers side covered). I was VERY dissapointed. And with one of the sets, a fan had actually fallen off and was rattling in the box!! Started the return process the next day! Then decided I best do some research. Found YouTube review and Luxster Punisher looked very good. Received the set fast from Amazon (earlier than initially promised). Third pic is driver side Luxster Punisher LED on high beam (with pass side covered). Fantastic!!! The only issue with install was that I wasn't sure what to do about the small rectangular cube that I determined to be the 'driver' after reading and pondering for quite a while; so even though the instruction booklet is pretty good, it should be improved to specify this part much more and verify its ok to just push it into the hole at the back of the headlight assembly, and go ahead and put the dust cover on (for projector type lights using 6012 in my case). I do have an Engineering Test background and lesson learned is that more LEDs (Ironwalls brand) are absolutely not always better! These Luxsters have only 2 LED chips and are absolutely fantastic. 4th pic is of both Luxsters on high beam. 5th pic is looking back at car on high. 6th pic is closer to show its a GMC Acadia. 7th pic is Luxsters on low beam; nice crisp cutoff!! To be fair, I will mention that when my with & I went to dinner - out on the open road - while the Ironwall 4-sided LED was in the drivers side, lighting from the Ironwall did seem to be almost as good as the factory halogen in the pass side (at that time). But after I put both Luxsters in, I would say visibility out on the highway is for sure 75% better than the factory halogens, and maybe even twice as good (100% improvement)!! I will also mention three more things. Quality is beautiful and I'm thinking these will last a long time. I learned something new with the 6012 application on the 2016 Acadia; two pins on bulb, so always on high. They use a shutter system in the headlight assembly to block the top portion of the light for low beam. Third is that now (11/12/24) they are on sale for 20% off on Amazon... so I'm buying two more sets of H11 Luxster Punishers for my '94 Buick Roadmaster with aftermarket headlight assemblies; i'm going to use these instead of the current HID bulbs (very bright (but fairly certain not as good as these Luxsters)), but not real reliable) in these assemblies. So, hopefully this helps others to go with these instead of making the mistakes I made before finding these Luxster Punishers. Just remember to dim those high beams - especially with these - for oncoming drivers, as they are exceptionally bright!!!

Second Review for H11 Projector and Reflector applications in 1994 Buick Roadmaster Wagon aftermarket 'SStreetlights' headlight assemblies; projectors (on outside) for low beams and reflectors (on inside) for high beams (pics 14, 15 & 16 show the SStreetlights headlight assemblies): Again, I am VERY pleased with these Luxster Punishers. 8th pic (first for this second review) shows just drivers side H11 Projector low beam with HID (55 watt). 9th pic shows just passenger side H11 Projector low beam with Luxster. Its about a 100% improvement with the Luxsters!! Some of my YouTube research did suggest LEDs do much better than HID in projectors, but in my case it is a huge improvement! 10th pic is looking back at the Roadmaster with just the low beams on and show the pass side much brighter. 11th pic is just drivers side H11 Reflector high beam with HID. 12th pic is just pass side H11 Reflector high beam Luxster LED. About a 10 to 20% improvement in the Reflectors. But the main thing is getting the low beams vastly improved (used the most), and also getting the reliability much improved. I took some pics out on a dark highway, but my old digital camera didn't really show the incredible amount of light; on high, the SStreetlights turn on all 4!! Boom!!! The aftermarket SStreetlights came with a relay assembly, so no issues, and lots of current available. Pics 16 & 17 show the Luxster LED and HID 'bulbs', and the different 'drivers'. Luxsters have a much smaller driver. Also, I was a bit concerned about if I needed to 'mount' the drivers, so I left the lights on for 45 minutes and the Luxster driver didn't get real hot; I could keep side of my finger on it for at least 4 seconds before having to remove finger... so I left them just touching various wires & just hanging there. Working fine. So, yes, I am very pleased (again). [And I did buy two more H11 sets for my 1994 Caprice Wagon (essentially a twin to the Roadmaster).]

5.0 out of 5 stars VERY Good for the Money
Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2024
Here's the TL:DR for those who just want a quick and easy read;

Pros;
Very Bright
Compact Form Factor
Small ballast/driver
Well built
Not overly power hungry

Cons;
Heatsink is a bit small for the power
Fan is underpowered
High LED temperature

Now for the long version;
Before I start, ***PLEASE*** dip your low beams if you intend to use these on the road, and do NOT use these in reflector housings (high beams are fine). This is the power level wherein you WILL blind people if you do not aim them correctly. All LED headlights are fine for road use if you dip the beams, clock the bulbs correctly, and use them in the correct type of housing.

These are VERY bright, if you're looking for something that packs a hard punch at the $55 pricepoint, these are it. Very simply put, these punch above their weight, as in these are like when the Hikari Titanova came out, revolutionary and an excellent beam pattern. Whilst other brands have far better light control, these are very far from bad and well above average, if I rated their light control from 1-100 I would give it a 65. When clocked properly into my reflector/projector combo housings, the reflector light output is really, really well controlled, solid 100 there. These do VERY well in projectors, if you have them, well recommended. As for the reflectors, these are light throwers, think flamethrower of light, it's super bright, and is just a massive fuzzy wall of lights concentrated at the center of your vehicle. Really helps with seeing deer and the like at night when there are no streetlights, however in a low beam configuration reflector, I wouldn't run these. Too risky of blinding people, however most vehicles have an aftermarket reflector headlight option available, which is what I recommend when switching to LEDs, do it once and do it right.

These are very easy to fit into a tight housing, in a Hyundai test headlight I have, these fit without any modification or extension housings. For those wondering; you can purchase universal rubber grommets for your headlight housings if the LEDs don't fit, or you can get caps that have an extended depth to them. Hyundai vehicles are common for fitment issues, and usually require caps AND adapters. In this case, adapters were required, but there was no need for any caps or extra spacing, the wiring, ballast, and heatsink are small enough that it's not an issue.

That brings me to what I hope the engineers at Luxster see; please give it a fan that has more airflow and a larger heatsink. The chip surface temperature is over 200 degrees on the phosphor, that's quite high, it's not unexpected, but we'll see how long these last. I'd like to see a stronger fan on the heatsink, as compared to my Novsight N60's, the heatsink fan runs much slower. However, they do run cooler, likely thanks to the reduced output power and triple heat pipes. Overall, room for improvement here, nothing major.

Now, onto the driver; they seem to draw 65W on turn on, lowering as they warm up. Drivers also run hot, around 130 degrees. However, due to how compact the driver is and the wattage the driver is pushing, this is a well acceptable number considering all those things. Normally when you put higher energy into a smaller driver form factor, it runs much hotter. However, this one is likely very efficient meaning more of the wattage going in is actually making it to the LEDs, which is why at their wattage, they pack a punch.

Build quality - superb. These are on the level of the Auxbeam F22-GX "GOAT" bulbs. They're not as "pretty" so to speak, no high contrasting colors or jagged lines with swagger. They're just built very well, the casting is great, the parts are aligned super well with no jagged edges, rough spots, or gaps in any area. The fan cover is simplistic yet functional, and it looks good too. It doesn't block airflow either as it's very wiry in design. They are also very weighty, not just because of the ballast, they really are very solid. You can tell whoever designed these really knows what they are doing with build quality, and the quality control is superb. The only very, very minor nag is with the cables. They are braided with a very strong braid, which is good, however the braid is clearly much thicker than the cable underneath, and that cable doesn't feel so good. This really doesn't matter as once you set these, you just let them go as with all LED headlights.

Overall, super solid choice. They are well built, affordable, and bright. Good beam pattern control, and good brightness retention over time. I give these a VERY solid 7/10 and they will be my daily drivers due to this.
