Fits a 1970 Chevelle SS 454 w/ TH400

I replaced the dipstick tube in my 70 Chevelle SS 454 with this one. The thing I like about this one is the robust seal, versus many which only have a small o-ring. It fit like a glove, zero issues, and bolted right up using one of the bell housing bolts. Thankfully I had the passenger side inner fender removed from the car which made installing this a lot easier. Anyhow, if you're looking for a good dipstick tube with a good deal and a lock, this is a good option.

1997 4l80,2001 5.3.. doesn’t line up

Used it in a 1981 camaro, 1997 4l80, 2001 5.3. My mounts for engine and trans put it close to the firewall, the mounting tab was close to the bellhousing bolt, but not close enough. I just used a clamp on the back of the head to lock it down.

Very pleased, fairly easy to install existing dipstick was roughly 7 inches longer. Once place side-by-side original dipstick and new replacement had exactly the same depth from transmission entry to end of dipstick bracket mounts off rear side of motor and dipstick roughly comes 2 inches above rear valve cover

This is a great TH400 fit. Comes with a nice sealing tube instead of the factory o-ring seal. Some racing organizations require a locking trans dipstick.

Tube thickness adequate with a good matching dipstick. Locking device on the dipstick seems to hold well. The angles of the tube bends worked well on my Buick Nail Head, just had to relocate the mounting bracket.

The mounting tab does not line up anywhere near anything! Also, the top of the dipstick ends up being level with the valley cover and way behind the head on a LS based engine. I installed this in a 2004 Silverado with a 4l80e swap and had to use a ladder and lay on the engine to get to this. The only reason I didn't send it back was due to time constraints. Technically it works if you zip tie it to something, and use a ladder the check fluid.

Do NOT buy this for a GM transmission/engine combo unless it's in a go kart.
