I purchased this as a replacement for a plastic stopper on a water jug. The provided drill bit is perfectly sized to modify the opening to accept the vent cap. Installation was easy with the parts and provided instructions. Installation took a few minutes. You'll need a drill capable of accepting the drill bit if the opening isn't already sized properly.

Overall a good simple product that does what it says.

Almost perfect, but……..

These arrived quickly and were well-packaged. I read the instructions and it seemed easy enough. However after attempting to install the first one, it fell off the wire and into the gas cans. Without an added function there was no way for the valve to go into the hole. The additional thing I did was to put the valve on the end of the wire on the large hole side, then bend the wire in a large loop to keep the valve from falling off that end. I then slid the valve across to the small hole and use the wire to pull the valve into the small hole. An additional caution: enlarge the small hole a little. Just drilling it does not make the hole large enough for the valve to go through without a lot of effort (I.e. needle nose pliers to pull it through).

Very happy with these. A little difficult to get treaded through the hole and had to trim a bit to get a clean hole but soon conquered the learning curve. These metal tiny tire valve stems work great. They should last and with wrenching the nuts on I doubt there will be any leaks. The cap retainers are great. Everything is better than the push in plastic snap vents.

These were easy to install and they work great. They seal well. When you pour gas, they won't vent well if you just loosen them. you need to completely unscrew the cap and move it aside or they will not let enough air in. That isn't a problem. They work as they are designed - Great!

Easy to install, hardest part is getting the wire to stick out the other side but with some patience it works. I like it is metal and won't wear out.
