My bike has metallic blue paint, and finding a match is almost impossible. This paint is a great match, and it makes the bike much better. Three or four coasts are needed to hide imperfections in the old paint, but it's worth the effort.

 I painted over my caliper covers from gloss black to the Red Anodized color. I was truly amazed and impressed with the color results. I did a 3 stage coat (primer, red anodized paint and hit it last with a coat of 2K gloss coat). Having a heat gun sped up the “baking” process and did all 4 of my covers in 4 hours. Overall, I am satisfied with my results and would highly recommend for any metal project. See my pictures for justification.

I got this because of the dark red and metal look, and it does exactly that! Got a chrome paint as an undercoat to heighten the metal effect, then sprayed this on. I used it on my guitar amp's face plate. It is very suttle but looks awesome in the light.

The only issues I had was that it seemed to take a long time to dry, and it still had some wets spots when I decided to place the painted piece on, and luckily the wet spots ended up being covered up by another layer from the face plate anyway. The last issue I had was the smell, BUT that is simply because it is not only an aerosol spray can, but it is also a DEEP RED, so the things used to make that color end up giving a very strong smell. I know this largely because Clay glaze in red smells horrible, and so does red toners for car paint, both I have a bit of experience with.

I recommend getting a spray can handle thing, as the head of the can is quite small and you will get paint on you, but just be sure to either wear gloves, or use a handle.

Overall great product!

I use this paint to refurbish oil lamps. Red & blue AMAZING! orange is ok but very hard to apply and requires the 5 coats, then wait for "FULL CURE" then repeat to get the deep color on can. Now the green... what an utter failure! This stuff looked like cheap green paint from a DG or something. I spent a week polishing a font to get that mirror Finnish required to get a reflective effect after painting. Put this stuff on and it was not transparent AT ALL! just looked like cheap green spray paint. All my other experience with these paints have left everyone who sees my lamps utterly amazed. The green is NOT recommended. Red and blue are great, orange is great (with extra care and time to apply) .

Only thing is that the spray nozzle pin got stuck on me just one time but I hit the top of it with my palm to make it get unstuck and worked like normal. Also make sure to test the spread of the spray on something to make sure it comes out vertical or horizontal and not in a circle. But well worth the money . And finally, wear gloves, a long sleeved shirt and a cover for your face to not get over spray all over you. Don’t ask how I know.

I bought this because I had great experiences with the Metalcast Red on some other projects. I was going to originally spray the part in metallic British Racing Green, but couldn't find it locally. I ended up spraying three coats of MetalCast Green over a Duplicolor Engine Enamel Cast Iron to make it darker than if sprayed over a lighter (Silver) base coat. My only complaint is that the pigment in the paint is susceptible to "running" if sprayed heavily on a vertical surface... The paint itself doesn't run, it's the pigment within, so just be careful if spraying heavily on a vertical surface

Purchased this to paint a motor and brake calipers. Paint is insanely thin, it really doesn’t matter how light of coats you try it runs and pools. I was using anodized copper, it basically fades from like yellow at the top to red at the bottom from the runs.
Be sure that you also have silver as a base coat. It was more than 30 days before I got to the project or I’d be returning. As it is I’ll probably just be putting the $60-70 down the drain and getting something that actually works.

It does NOT have an anodized look nor does it look anything like the cap even after applying properly wet sanding like a body shop and even trying to clear coat it. Disappointed really after all that work.
