5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what you need for a Suzuki Intruder
Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2024
I did a lot of research coming up with this purchase. Including reaching out to Suzuki and Xerex (which is made by valvoline). Ater speaking with reps from both companies this is what they both recommended. Not the most expensive product available for my bike but it is more than adequate to do the job. I never buy the cheapest and rarely the most expensive, but I do want a product that will the job properly. This coolant has proven over the years that it is one of the best. Unless you are doing some very extreme driving in very extreme climates this is what the professionals and I recommend. If you are looking for coolant and this is what is spec for your vehicle than I strongly suggest you stop looking and purchase this xerex coolant. I would never recommend a product to anyone if I was not 110% confident that it is not the best choice for them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Less expensive than the stock brand!

I have a 2023 Honda CR-V, and I prefer to buy this highly-rated antifreeze, rather than pay much more with the stock brand. My car manual says to use nothing other than the stock brand, but I think that's just a ploy to get one to buy their own brand. I am very satisfied with Zerex antifreeze!

5.0 out of 5 stars Asian Blue PHOAT
Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2023
Most people think all coolants are the same. They are for most of the ingredients; however, corrosion inhibitors is what makes them different. Really old vehicles had fewer differences but as coolants went organic the options increased. Organic for coolant provides longer life and better protection in modern vehicles. Color alone isn't an indicator of correct fluid, context matters. Asian green vs America greens target vehicle designs and engine alloys like all coolants. American vehicles have silicates in coolant that can coat the walls of an asian engine insulating heat transfer, damage a water pump, damage thermostats, etc... I believe if I remember correctly that mixing those two could cause the coolant to gel up. If not those two there is a mix that can do that. Both are green but very different. Typically user manuals list engineering standards such as ATSM or JASO followed by a number and occasionally list what to avoid. This can be confirmed on the bottle, but take it a step further and go to the website. The technical or specification papers for product info usually lists these standards and what cars are compatible. There are some brands I don't trust to properly list compatibility, but I've seen no issues in Zerex for Asian vehicles. Many may share ATSM standards like the Red, Blue, and Green Asian. Asian blue & green are practically the same but blue has a longer life. Red is typically for specific car brands. Theoretically you could convert green to blue concerning Asian. I would personally do 4yrs 60k for blue and not the 150k advertised. While many people mix types and brands, it is not recommended. Each Individual blend meets engineering standards through likely a specific mix of chemicals. Two equivalents may reach specified standards through a different formula or they may have identical recipies. Without that information we can not be certain. Mixing brands & types could diminish original effectiveness of the blend. I flush a system clean with distilled water before I switch to a new coolant brand. This is why I will be putting this brand in a friend's vehicle so he can run into a store to find this if he needs to top it off in an emergency rather than waiting on Amazon. Amazon is cheaper if willing to wait. At this point Amazon backed out of many warehouses to save on storage and orders are delayed as it isn't always on hand or some complications with items of more than one count can occur. Prime doesn't mean much for many orders nowadays when they don't actually have it in warehouse. Order here to get it cheap and elsewhere to get it on time. I'll likely be going through another vendor next time my project is time sensitive. My friends vehicle is stuck in my driveway as Amazon is a week plus behind on the order. The product though is made by a reputable company. I noticed a post where someone had a slush. I suspect it was a bad batch, it was in their truck for a long time, or something while in their posession compromised it. Freezing point in the specifications is I believe-34f so for it to freeze at 7f means something more is going on. Went into two forums to solicit that picture and inquire and one guy said he has had a jug in -33f and it did not freeze. Now I normally use a different harder to get brand for my vehicles just because that's what I started with years ago and I don't like switch up brands/products on my vehicle. My motorcycle Kawasaki makes a green specifically for the all aluminum block so I use that since it is either just a green PHOAT and no big deal or potentially they have engineered something really great for the aluminum engine like they claim. Otherwise, I stick to my other brand. That said I have faith in Valvoline Zerex, and rest assured as long as you match the correct product to your vehicle and bleed the air from your coolant system then you should be fine. I may start using them myself because they are easier to get a hold of normally.

Update: Amazon couldn't even get it to me at all except for 1 jug... off to the stores to try and find it locally. FYI, I am by a major city. If they can't get it to me then you are screwed.

Much better than going to the dealership for some “pink coolant” where they will charge you double the price of this.
