First time mom opinion & honest review,
I spent a LOT of time reading reviews in hopes of getting my moneys worth out of the right wearable pump. I just knew I had to have one. I am happy with my purchase overall however; when I first purchased this, I had big dreams envisioned of doing all kinds of stuff around the house wearing these. I was disappointed to quickly find out how this was not exactly going to be the case… I only once made the mistake of wearing these while getting ready for the day which consisted of blow drying my hair, which was too much movement resulting in a tear in my areola. Ouch. I didn’t feel it when it happened but I sure did afterwards. Since then, I realize you cannot move around too much while wearing these… they are perfect for setting at a desk, sitting in a car, washing dishes, cooking dinner, any low movement activity. I did manage to vacuum the floor the other day while wearing, however this was pushing it and I was reminded of the inconvenience when it came to the constant re-adjustments and when it was necessary to bend over and pick up anything that may be in the way of my path. It is possible but they will slow you down a tad. You will spill out the top if you’re not careful! You don’t realize how much you’re bending over to do simple tasks until you wear these. Prepare to get your exercise doing squats! These will slide around if you move around too much and need to be adjusted. I think this will be a issue with every wearable pump out there.
Discreetness: Not very. I am heavier chested and these stick out like a bad Temu boob job under my shirt. I would NEVER wear these out in public. Not to mention, anybody who says they are quiet is lying! We had company over one evening, now mind you, the house was quiet at the time without any background noise but one of my husband’s friend’s could hear my pumps from across the room a good 12-15 foot away. He asked what that noise was? I had to laugh it off and explain it was my robo boobs making the bullfrog like sounds. The only way someone else won’t hear these is if there is a lot of background noise or they are deaf. I will wear these at work in my office, but not outside of it. If you think you’ll be discreet wearing these, you won’t be. I have attached a video with it running on all 3 settings. Now imagine that noise volume x2. However, it is more visually discreet than setting down at a wall pump or hand pump. I just wish they weren’t such a bulky round sphere shape, this has made me wish I would’ve invested the money in the newer slimmer looking model. I find myself wearing larger shirts these days to accommodate these.
Battery: Pretty good! These run for 30 minutes before automatically shutting off. Now me myself, I have to pump for 40-60 minutes to fully empty my breasts. This is both with these & my spectra pump. I get about 3 60 minute uses out of these before the battery shows low charge and starts blinking. It will show you how much charge they have left anytime you click a button to illuminate the screen. You will need to buy a charger block, I suggest getting one with two plug in spots so you don’t have to take up two outlets. They do charge relatively fast in less than two hours.
Suction: Great! This goes up to a 9. I only have to use levels 3 or 4 is plenty for me!! The different settings of stimulation, suction or combined which is a nice touch & the buttons were not hard to figure out.
Comfort: They don’t bother me much when wearing the correct bra with them & doing low level activity.
Cleaning: As with any pump, washing pump parts is exhausting, but that is just a part of it. There’s 8 pieces total here to be washed. Do not sanitize these in a microwave bag, I seen in other reviews where parts melted! I have only hand washed and dried all of my parts and so far, so good. I recommend the momcozy pump wipes for when you are on the go and you don’t have the option to wash your pump parts, they will get you by until you can and at least you don’t have to store these with milk on them. You can also use the pump again after just using the wipes, no rinsing necessary, so that’s a plus for road trips. I use the fridge hack while at work with these (except the motor, don’t put it in the fridge)
Travel Friendly: I very much appreciate the case this came with! It looks nice & is perfect for all parts, including charging cords. I also managed to fit in my pumping wipes and a couple of milk storage bags.
Flanges: These come with a few different flange size inserts. The maximum size without an insert is 24mm in this set. However, when searching for replacement parts I see they do offer a 27mm back piece as well which is nice because I was at first under the assumption if you needed a larger fit than the standard 24mm that you just couldn’t use this product.
Replacement Parts: I am looking into buying replacement parts. They seem pretty pricey but are readily available here on Amazon. I am still unsure what the suggested replacement period time length is for these; I wish that was more clear. I assume like most pumping accessories, probably 3 months? Depending on what you need, the whole kit and caboodle replacement parts (except motors) seems to be $90 for two. They do have options for more specific individual parts for cheaper. I do wish they sold these parts in packs of 2 (one for each breast) but they don’t so beware of that when purchasing any replacement parts.
Tips: You will want to wear these with a pumping bra with support so these are firm enough attached to you. I am not wearing the correct type of bra in the first photo attached with the bralette which was a reason I had some issues in the beginning. You need a bra that will keep these firmly attached to you. I really like the MomCozy pumping bras which I am wearing in the end photo attached. This makes a big difference.
Cons: They are a bit bulky, but probably most wearable pumps would be. Like I said,I find myself wearing more oversized shirts these days to accommodate these… It’s hard to hold baby while wearing these or bend over to pick them up. You have to hold your baby to the side of your body and if you have to bend over be prepared to spill milk out the top if you are not careful. I accidentally dumped milk out on my baby in her swing once when I forgot I was wearing them and went to pick her up.
I wish they were quieter. I’m personally too embarrassed to wear these around anyone I’m not super comfortable with. People may not say anything but I am certain they will hear them or wonder why your breasts look so funky. However they are not too noticeable if you have enough background sound going or at least that is what my co-workers have said (could be lying) lol.
Pros: Most importantly these do pull the milk off of me and are decently comfortable to wear. They seem to be of good quality. They hold up a reasonable charge and charge quickly. These give me a bit more sanity and freedom here and there. I can’t compare them to any other wearable pumps because this is a first for me but overall I am satisfied with my purchase. I appreciate these greatly now that I am back to work at my desk job. I use them 3 to 4 times a day at work. Without these it would not be possible for me to pump at work or continue my breastfeeding journey. I hope you found this review helpful!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite pump!
Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2025
As a first-time mom, I can confidently say that the Momcozy M5 has been a game-changer for my breastfeeding journey. Initially, I wasn’t planning on pumping much, but having a NICU baby made it essential. While I started with a hospital-grade pump, I bought the M5 as a supplement for on-the-go use, and it’s now my go-to pump!

    Here’s the highlights:
    - Convenience: Being wearable and hands-free has been a lifesaver. I can multitask while pumping without being tethered to a machine.
    - Efficiency: Despite its compact size, the suction is impressive, and it empties me effectively. (A supportive bra is essential)
    - Sound and Battery: Some reviews mention complaints about noise and battery life, but these are negligible to me. I charge it once daily, just like my phone, and it’s good to go.
    - Maintenance: I pump about half the time now, both for my baby’s familiarity and convenience. Replacing the silicone parts every 6-8 weeks keeps the pump in top condition, which is an easy routine to follow. I haven’t had any issues with the mechanics, but it sounds like customer service is great.
    - Customizing: definitely recommend reading the instructions about the different pump settings and finding what is best for you. I tested a few different options and realized quickly which worked best!

Bonus Tip: If you’re looking for a way to save time cleaning, the Momcozy KleanPal bottle washer is a perfect companion. It’s compatible with the pump parts, ensuring everything is sterile without endless scrubbing. It gives me more time for my baby and peace of mind knowing everything is clean.

This pump is an incredible option for moms balancing pumping with the rest of their busy lives. Don’t let minor complaints about sound or battery deter you—this pump delivers where it matters. For NICU moms or anyone needing reliable, portable pumping, it’s a must-have.
