5.0 out of 5 stars Looks great, performs just as we needed!

Exactly what we were looking for for a baby gate at the top of our stairs. This was decently easy to install. It is very easy to open and close and feels sturdy. I think it is a bit on the pricier side, but we had returned a previous gate that did not work for our type of railing. We needed some thing that would work on our curved banister as you can see in the picture. We added a zip tie just for extra support, but I don’t think that’s necessary, we are just being cautious. It’s the right size for our space. This has done the job to keep our baby safe!

 Once we got the measurements and read the first page or two of the instruction manual, we had no problem installing the gate. It was super easy, easier than I even anticipated. Just want to stress the importance of not messing with the tightening once you’ve cut the red zip tie that has a sign that says do not cut until after install. It messes with the way the gate shuts. Make sure it’s secure, cut the red zip tie and don’t mess with it. It works beautifully. I’m so happy with it. Easily worth the money. We’re getting at least 3 more because we have 3 levels of our home and 2 sets of stairs so we’ll have a total of 4 gates. We simply used the pressure based install rather than the screws because our home is newly renovated and we don’t want to mess up the walls and the brand new banisters. It’s insane how sturdy this baby gate is. I’m thoroughly impressed and I absolutely love how nice it looks. 10 out of 10 recommend.

UPDATE:::

This update has everything to do with having to remove the gate and then reinstall it. I genuinely believed once you install the gate (using the pressure mounts only) that it absolutely could not be removed and reinstalled. Boy was I wrong. Yes, the initial instructions say not to cut the big red zip tie until you’ve finished the installation, but it’s not as scary as they make it seem. You can literally remove this gate however many times you need to and then reinstall it just fine. The one thing you will need, however, is heavy duty zip ties (or multiple regular but elongated zip ties). Which we had because we had been in the process of moving . Because we moved into our newly renovated home very recently from a super tiny 2 bedroom apartment, we had to buy a lot of new furniture. I was concerned about the fact that we wouldn’t be able to reinstall the baby gates if we had to remove them and we were fully prepared to just chuck these in that case and buy 2 new gates. I mean, what the heck are you supposed to do with a toddler running around? Just not put in a gate because it’s gonna get in the way 3 weeks later when the furniture is delivered??? Of course not. What happens when you remove the pressure from the pressure mounts is that the door part of the gate basically separates and your first instinct is to panic. Which is exactly what I did. But fear not, for I have the answer! You’re absolutely going to need to use some brute force and some sort of zip tie, be it heavy duty or just basic, but what you need with the zip tie is to simply “scrunch” it to the point you can get the gate back into the place you had it installed initially. For us, we had them at the top and bottom of our staircase. As long as it fits, all you have to do is reinstall it like you did the first time. And I did this for the bottom and top of our staircase. Once you get the gate to fit through the space you needed it to fit into, you just keep spinning the little black piece around the screw on both sides and both top and bottom until it’s back into place and BAM it works just like it did before. Because of this, I am an even bigger fan of these gates. They look amazing they function perfectly and you can remove them over and over if necessary. Freaking awesome.

Again, this is only for the pressure mount option. I have no idea if this works for the permanent screw mount.

5.0 out of 5 stars SO WORTH IT!!

 I purchase Baby Gate a while ago, and it has been a very good purchase. The gate is pretty sturdy and was very easy to install. My toddler isn't able to open it, which fulfills my primary purpose for buying it, while my older kids can open it without any issues.

I really appreciate the safety feature of the gate where you can easily lock it by swinging it close with a little force and it won't open just by pushing it. You have to use the slide lock button on the top and pull up the gate simultaneously to open it. This makes it very safe to use around my toddler. Another great feature is that it opens both ways, adding to its convenience.

Overall, this baby gate is perfect for ensuring safety for babies and pets, and I highly recommend it to other parents!

I use this baby gate at the top of my outdoor stairs so my dog can be on the patio without escaping. The gate was perfect at first, and would close automatically with a gentle push. However, as it aged, it started to slip around, and when I tightened the screw mounts to prevent it from sliding around the walls, it was then too tensioned for the gate to close on its own without being shoved shut. I also have this outside in a coastal area (I understand it's not designed for that) but note that if you want it for outside, mine rusted within a month. Overall a good pick

5.0 out of 5 stars Great dog gate, even works on an angle!
Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2024
Absolutely loves this baby gate to keep my new rescue pup off the carpet. I was worried about the pressure attachment not sitting flush with an angle which is why I specifically picked this gate with the banister attachments. It only comes with 2 banister attachments, not 4, so I had to use the regular ones for the bottom and the gate is secure. The door closes automatically if it’s not at the full 90 degrees which is a plus! Easy to install once you read the directions all the way through as there are many ways to install it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for gating dogs

I used this to add a gate between my dining room and kitchen because the opening was too big for a standard baby gate, and I needed to keep it up for a long time while my puppy was growing up. It was easy to install, but required that you read and follow the instructions. I did not use the cups that you screw into the wall because I didn't want to drill holes and I wasn't using it with children. It has been in place for over a year now, and is still doing well. The gate hinges got stiff at about 6 months, so I sprayed them with a little WD40 and they work perfectly again.

We bought this gate to keep our dog out of the living room. The design and functionality of it are probably the best I’ve seen. The gate opens and closes like a regular door. It releases by sliding a button and lifting up, which is located on top. Stays firmly in place without having to permanently affix to walls, etc. We really like it and are glad we chose it.
