Got a blade out of the paper that was dull starting out. Tried both sides. Dull.

And then you get blades that are so danged sharp that you accidentally nick yourself and you don't even feel it.

You get what you pay for. That's all I can say about this one. Sometimes you'll spend more time putting a new blade in than you will actually spend time shaving.

Shaving my leg, I counted to about 30 strokes until the blade was unusable. Trying another blade, I counted to 12 and the blade developed a nick.

This thing is a toy to me. If you're buying this to save money? This will probably not save you money.

UPDATE: After using it for a while, I can say that it's pretty good. You might be able to save money if you get good at using this, but I have no idea how it is for facial hair. I primarily use it for leg hair, and it's really good for dry shaving. No razor rash or anything. I think that, if you try really hard, you can get one leg done per razor. And if you calculate that up, then maybe you can save some money. IDK though

For 12 years I had a Solingen straight razor from The Art of Shaving and recently had to get it replaced. I didn’t wanna spend the money to get a new one and I opted for this is a temporary replacement and the first time I used it, I was very pleasantly surprised as to how close the shave was. I thought the body was going to be plastic and somewhat flimsy, but again, pleasantly surprised to see that it had some weight to it and is pretty sturdy. The blades that came with it are pretty sharp. Very happy and will keep for when I travel.

This looks like the old school straight blade! thats what I thought when I ordered it.
I want to say to start it is exactly what I expected it to be. It came with tons of razors and it does indeed work well to shave.

But this is a NOT for BEGINNERS straight blade tool. The handle is very awkward until you really get used to it. It constantly wants to move while you are holding it. It can make certain angles challenging when edging a mustache for example.

That being said, If you are familiar with this, or fancy yourself a dexterous lad, this may work just fine.
Its simple, and it gives a very close shave when used properly.

Replacing the blade can get a little annoying at times. The lever gets a little stuck sometimes. And you have to make sure the blade is in just the right spot when you close it all up. But it is something that is consistent and can be learned.

Other than that, I will say the design is solid and not likely to break or be unusable anytime soon.
It does not lock in place so be careful how you store it as to not let the blade expose before you can grab it out of a bag for example. Would recommend taking out blade entirely if storing in a bag. Blades are cheap enough anyway.

I don't know why I thought I could just buy a straight razor and automatic know how to use it. Super sharp edge. Nicked myself couple times. Only used it that time and after that went back to my 6 blade razor. Had problems putting the blade on.

This razor holder feels very stiff and very premium. It doesn't feel flimsy at all and its very comfortable holding it in your hand. Even after a few days using it. I have no issues with it. It doesn't make your hand tired after long hours of use it is very lightweight
