My new favorite mascara!!

I have a hard time finding mascara that doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes and also have a hard time finding blue washable mascara, so I am SO delighted to have found this one! Please Maybelline, don't stop making this in blue!! It is so pretty on (and it is the only mascara that helps my eyelashes unfurl from being squashed on one corner of my eye by my c-pap machine mask at night!- which is amazing.) This makes my eyelashes so long and defined, that people have asked me what I'm wearing and I'm glad to tell them! Yay for Blue mascara, as even at my age, as it makes the whites of my eyes brighter. I will wear blue mascara always ~ as it also doesn't leave raccoon black circles under my eyes (like every black mascara I've ever used) when washing it off. ('Cuz well I don't want to bother with soap by my eyes when water will do :) which it does with blue mascara.)

I feel like I’ve tried so many mascaras in my life - both high end and drug store and I honestly always keep coming back to this one. It makes me lashes seem like I have extensions on them all day long, it doesn’t smear down my face if I’m sweaty or had a long day at work, and the black truly makes my eyes pop. It is easy to remove at the end of the night and not a mascara you feel like you’re scrubbing your eyes off to make sure it doesn’t smear on your pillow at night.

I love this mascara! I have been searching for one that actually makes my lashes visible (they are very blonde) and also give them length and volume. This one checks all of those boxes. I have been buying this for a couple of years now and will continue to. I also wear contacts, it does not run and cleans off easily. I highly recommend this mascara.

I have a complicated relationship with mascara. I don't exactly love it, but I kinda need it because my lashes are so light blonde that when I don't wear any, I look like I don't even have lashes. One complicated aspect of our relationship is either they change, or I do. I LOVED Tightline by It Cosmetics - even wore at my wedding - but they changed the formula and the product was drying up in less than two weeks. I wore the super cheap Essence waterproof mascara for a couple of years, then it started irritating my eyes; they could have changed something, or maybe I developed an allergy; I'm not sure. I even thought I had found a holy grail in Lancome's Définicils, but then *I* changed my esthetic and decided I wanted to wear brown to meld better with my strawberry blonde hair.

That's how I arrived here. I watched a strawberry blonde Tiktoker discussing her makeup routine, and she uses this in brown. She said it was a true brown, instead of a black-brown like most mascara companies make - which is kind of insulting to us, the customers who want/need a brown, but the companies think we're unsure of this and the difference between black and black-brown is not even noticeable when you have it on. ???? I don't know if I would consider this a "true brown", it's definitely not black, but it lacks the warmth and brightness of a true brown - like the brown of Cabaret's mascara (which is beautiful, but doesn't go on well and clumps terribly). The Sky High has a similar applicator, but the formula is much better - more smooth and creamy and not clumpy at all. It's also a tubing mascara, which, if you haven't tried a tubing, you don't know what you're missing! It stays put, but comes off with just warm water and a gentle tug. That is the biggest reason I'm giving it four stars: it DOES lengthen a LOT, without clumping or adding too much volume (I'm not a fan of the voluminous mascaras, myself; I prefer one that improves color and definition).

If you like black, or black-brown mascaras that will give you length, without adding volume, and prefer a rubbery, spiny applicator over a thinner brush or spoolie type applicator, this one is for you. I just place more priority on color because I have none on my natural lashes and black can look too harsh on my fair skin and with my light-colored hair.

So, off I go! On my quest for the "perfect" mascara...

It’s obviously not the same formula it was when I fell in love with it in the 2000s, but it’s still great! As someone who just got rid of lash extensions after wearing them for 2-3 years, my lashes need length. And this provides it! It doesn’t smudge, even after sleeping in it! Yet it comes off easily with plain soap and water.

This is really great mascara! I’ve been using it for years, never disappoints. It doesn’t flake or smear, & is very black mascara. Some brands will say very black, but this one truly is. I really like the wand on this too, if you’re the type person who likes a thinner no heavy bristle wand, this is for you! It does what the label says, lengthening & definition. I use a primer first, always have, then 2 coats, I wait to let dry in between.

I had not owned a mascara for a few years before I bought this. The photos looked like the effect I wanted, this one wasn't too expensive. Honestly, I am just not very impressed by it. It's not horrible, just not great. I think the main part that really just doesn't work for me is the wand. It is almost flat, applies the mascara gloppily (for lack of a better word). Again, it isn't terrible, but it probably isn't the mascara that you want. I'm not returning mine because at the end of the day, I don't use mascara very often anyways. I just would have wanted a better one for those days that I do. The next time I buy a mascara I think I will do more research to find the right one. I have had Maybelline mascaras in the past, and liked them better, I might have just bought the wrong one.

This mascara goes on well when applied correctly. It looks great & lasts all day without smearing under my eyes. It isn't hard on my lashes like water proof mascaras are. I use both the Cobalt Blue & DEEP Black shades depending on my mood & outfit. Best mascara I've found in years. Highly recommend this one.
