- donald j koepnickGreat solution for a remote security cameraEasy to set up and works as advertised. I needed to put a security camera at our entrance gate, about 300' from any power or wifi router. This module works with the Blink 4 battery powered camera and has settings for 250' and 400' from the module. I tried the 250' setting ( allows higher resolution than the 400' setting) and it worked perfectly. I mounted the sync module inside my garage on the exterior wall closest to the camera location. The sync module was about 60' from my wifi router, with several walls in between.

- Bill B.Had high hopes......UPDATE 12/9/2024I have had Blink cameras both at home and my camp up in Maine for years now and have been very pleased with them. When I saw they now have an extended range I was thrilled as now I could be able to check on the boats at the dock in the summer when I'm not there. Well 4 days into the new XR system and have to say I'm pretty disappointed. I'm almost exactly 200 feet from the water and so far, they work about 25% of the time. Tried a couple times to set it on XR Mode and it wouldn't work. Finally got it to work on XR+ but like I said, maybe 25% of the time it will work, rest of the time is the clockwise symbol that it's trying to load.

So soon after this poor review I was contacted by Blink Support. They had me grant access to my system and looked into the issues I was having. They discovered I was connected to my 4G system and Blink operates on 2.4G. I switched my Sync module over to the 2.4 that I have for tank utility system this past weekend, and it now works perfectly. Big thank you to Kevin from Blink Technical support. - Amazon Customer"The Testing Phase"Review #1 - Date 11/10/2024 - "The Testing Phase": ----- Meaning I just got this & 1 of many New Gen 4 Outdoor Cameras. I have a huge Blink Camera System that consists of "8" Sync Modules (Including this one). So I have 8 Camera Zones that have a total of "23" Blink Cameras. All up and running seamlessly with usually no Drops or Offline Cameras. I do this so I can have some ARMED ALL THE TIME & Others ARMED ONLY When I Need Them, they are Inside & Outside of my house.. A Couple are EXTRA ZONES with extra cameras so they can be moved them around as or if needed. ----- I got this All-new Blink Sync Module XR — System Hub to see if it really works as they (Blink) say it dose. I am hopping it dose Because I would like a couple of Cameras Out Further from My House so I can See more of my land & A couple looking Back Towards My House. All my cameras are always plugged in and waiting or watching. I set up this All-new Blink Sync Module XR — System hub & I will Give it 4 Stars for now because I did just set it up and put a The Gen 4 Outdoor Camera (That came as a bundle) about 125' from the Sync Module, it was in my basement and had to go through 2 inside walls, 1 outside wall then out to the end of my fence. It worked the very first time. Not with great connections but it was more responsive than some of my other Cameras including Gen 4 Cameras that are closer & they all have 100% connection to there Sync Module 2 & Router. I will move the Sync Module Hub around my house hook it to a closer router ( I have 3). I will also PLUG the Gen 4 Camera in to a power supply (AS ARE ALL MY CAMERAS) & remove the batteries. I have noticed that ALL MY CAMERAS work better with a constant power supply. Blink Cameras are GREAT. I Love them & find them very dependable and at a very decent price when they are on sale. ----- I will update this review after a few weeks of testing.

Works very well and brings in weak signals - Jordan ThomasActually impressed... I was able to get almost 370 feet with itI had the "basic" Blink 2 Sync Module and it worked fine for the 3 cameras around the house + the doorbell camera.
I don't live in a conventional neighborhood, and we have a driveway almost 400 feet long between the house and the road. It said it would work from 400ft, and I measured on a map measuring website and measured ~370 feet before buying this XR+ Sync and another Blink 4 outdoor camera. So I gave it a whirl.
And lo and behold... It actually works from roughly 360ft away from the Sync module, which is sitting in the second story window. That ultra-low 900mhz signal is "cutting" through almost 300 feet of dense vegetation and trees.
I thought at first the distance wouldn't work, then I realized at the time I was sitting in my truck trying to test how far I could go. The truck is a big steel box, which at that distance (~330ft at the time) will easily effect the signal penetration abilities, therefore forfeiting distance/range of the 900mhz signal. I stepped out the truck and it started working. (relatively) fine.
I Also thought at first live view wouldn't work at that distance, (The motion detection recording was fine for XR+ mode which is limited to 360p). However, I guess my truck I drove up there at the time was sitting between the Sync module and the camera making the connection weak and inconsistent. Because now it works fine.
All in all with the price of this XR+ Module and the Outdoor 4 camera (Which I got on sale for $38). And assuming it fits your ~380 foot and below range needs, and you can get the module in decent position. It makes for a decent replacement for a live view 4G cellular sim card trail camera. (which require a monthly data cell plan).
I should mention, the whole reason I wanted this to work is because somebody stole our short palm tree flowers we have on each side of the driveway earlier this year LOL. (you can kinda see them in the screenshot)
