I feel more secure with Eufy system in place. Make sure you use the recommended home base for this camera. Easy setup. Works amazing in tracking anyone entering my front yard and alerts me through Alexa App, Motion detected in front yard. Set up a zone on the app to limit any unwanted notifications. I love these cameras.
- Amazon CustomerJust amazingFirst off, I originally purchased the Solium S600 solar wireless outdoor cameras. Long story short, after purchasing the Eufy S340 cameras it was a no brainer. I wasted my money on the Solium cameras. Solium cameras don't even come close to the eufy S340. I placed 2 eufy cameras about 425 feet from my Wavlink WIFI booster and they both worked like they were hardwired into a security camera modem. eufy has quick and fast response times with no buffering or lagging. The Solium cameras that I currently have are also connected to the Wavlink WIFI booster and buffer, and most times they wont even load to see the video and they're about 200 feet closer to the Wavlink WIFI booster than the eufy cameras. I couldn't get the seller for Solium to help me with issues with the IR lights that failed on all 7 of my Solium S600 cameras and got feed up and purchased eufy security cameras.
I placed one inside a metal cow barn to do a test to see if they had reception inside the barn and I'm proud to report that they worked flawlessly. I plan on replacing all of my Solium cameras with the eufy S340 cameras. Easy to set up and very easy to use to monitor my property.
These eufy cameras have a very quick response time, when I open the app to view a camera, clear video, crisp sound and with the solar panels I should be able to get plenty of watch time in the future.
If you're looking for a solar wireless security camera I can honestly say that these are worth the money. No monitoring fees with this cameraPlan where to position this camera before purchasing. I needed to purchase a gutter camera mount and adapt it slightly to my ideal location. I opened the package, charged the camera synched to my wi-fi and had Eufy notifications sent to my phone in a minute or two. The quality of daytime pictures is as clear as a television, and night time with camera is formidable especially with the talk feature. There are not monitoring charges notifications are sent to your phone and onboard memory is very good. The solar panel throws a fast charge, my panel faces the morning sun east and is full charged in much less than an hour.
I also purchased a two year waranty in case. there was a price drop on this item and Amazon refunded the difference.
I then purchased a single Uefy camera and could not get it to connect to my wi-fi and had to return.
Trick is when using the app and the second camera does not connect to router, unplug router for 30 seconds, then plug in to reboot... the second camera came n like a champ! No homebase needed.

I purchased this camera as we had installed the door bell camera and it works great. Installed this camera and added the rain shield as location it was being placed was not covered by the roof and I expected rain to get on the lenses.
Installation was great and the quality of images and recording are the best I have encountered. Wifi access is great and notifications are fast. We set it for human and vehicles and it ignores everything except the wild turkeys. Apparently since they walk on two legs it thinks they are humans.

The motion tracking was mediocre at best. No matter what settings you choose, the video would always start partially into the event missing the beginning. It would not keep recording the event even after setting to record for the max 120 seconds.
Because most of these cameras people will have pointed at some type of road or sidewalk, you want 24/7 recording as the entire point of a camera system is to capture an event that may not be triggered by motion or other AI. When motion is enabled, you get hundreds of micro clips and it’s impossible to sort through. This also drains the battery as in order to keep the battery charged, you can’t have it recording 24/7, have lots of motion recordings or even watch the live feed as after a couple minutes you get warnings stating the battery won’t last with watching a live feed.
The camera quality is pretty good. The 3x zoom lens doesn’t seem to be any different than a digital zoom using pinch to zoom.
It will only track if you are in direct view of the lens. If you are at the side (in frame), it will not follow you. - Clinton SorrellWorks perfectly! On the fence to get one more!Works great! Solar power is a lifesaver and I never have to worry about the battery. A couple of hours a day and it’s perfect. Made the mistake of thinking both cameras I got in were close to fully charged turns out one only had 34% but I had already set it up on the gutters and to charge it I would have to go back up and remove it. After a few days it’s up to 90% with no problems. I even set it towards the road and the battery is still working like a charm with a handful of detection alerts.
I’ve got this hooked up through WiFi and the homebase S3. Camera is extremely clear. I love the peace of mind it gives me while I’m away or even at home as it alerts me when someone moves in my driveway. I’ve got 3 of these! Debating about a fourth. - LincolnDo not buy refurbished from Eufy.Do not buy a refurbished Eufy unit. Stopped working after 4 months which is outside of the 3 month warranty window. Total junk I would never buy again. Camera is slow to respond and does not zoom in properly. Also shut off continuously. Stopped detecting motion. Worthless junk.
