- Chris GJewelry for your wall! The 4th Generation Nest thermostat with Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd Gen) is undoubtedly the best smart thermostat there is, and not just because it learns your patterns, has a great app, is easy and intuitive to install. it is also one of the most beautiful devices I've installed. The polished gold version is like jewelry. The display animates the different seasons, the overall feel and operation is elegant, with a slightly damped feel when you rotate the dial. The rotation method of changing temperature is intuitive, and a bit of an ode to the classic rotating dial thermostat of years past. No other smart thermostat I could find has a rotating dial, and yet is feature packed, intuitive and easy to use. It seems that so many of the other smart thermostats are complicated, lack important learning features and just seem to be trying too hard and not getting it done.
The Nest thermostat is certainly not the least expensive smart thermostat, but it's money well spent if quality is important. - Mr. Vahe MomjyanPay attention to conditionThe thermostat works excellent, but the screen has many scratches, it seems it was used for several months then returned and resold. Do not buy if there is no condition description.
- Mary MidgettDiscontinuation by GoogleWe love our Google nest. After having it in installed by our air conditioning company, we were told that Google is going to be getting rid of Google nest.
Really enjoy seeing a new picture each month according to the season - M. E., MARTINEZApp control.Do not buy Google is removing the control app in optober please do youre investigation before you you waste youre money on 1, 2nd Generaton.
- John B. KallaGoogle Home App ruined itYou are now required to use the Google Home app to control this thermostat. I bought it anyway cuz I figured it would work just fine either way. I was wrong. The Home app is unresponsive and doesn’t really update to current settings until you change the temp. It’s a horrible experience for anyone used to the Nest app. Now I have to find a new thermostat company and won’t be able to use the sweet “spin to change” round thermostat Nest invented. I tried Ecobee when it first came out, but didn’t like it. Maybe it’s improved now?
I’m so angry at Google for ruining what used to be an excellent product. Not recommended.
