- David MGood workout variety, nice videos, well madeI had 4 of the individual workout apps from the same company (abs, legs, arms, cardio) from previous FAOTDs about a year ago. I enjoyed the apps although I admit even with the app I wasn't motivated to use them regularly though that's no fault of the app developer.
This combined app replaces all the previous individual apps and adds a butt workout. Now there is an option for a full workout as previous reviewers said which combines areas of the body. The combined workout is very good if you are new to the app and can't sustain a workout routine of even a few minutes focusing on just one body area. Of course you are flipping your body around like crazy in about 4 seconds between routines but that is part of the fun.
With this new app, I got my significant other involved a few days ago so we both have motivation. The videos are easy to follow and give clear instructions. I use plastic jugs or bottles filled with water for the weights.
I got this app as the FAOTD but it would be well worth the money to buy it if you compare with a gym membership. - DanineVery little space and very little timeMost days I don't have a 60 minute time slot to myself. I do, actually, if I went across town and plunked down cash for child care for two small children. For all the hardcore workout enthusiasts this is an excuse. For me it's a reality. Knowing that I indeed MUST exercise IF I'm ever going to attain MILF status I use this daily workout app thingy. I DO have 10 minutes to exercise before the kids get up. I DO have 10 before I start folding laundry and 10 more before I start washing nasty dishes. My point is 10 minutes here and there scattered throughout the day gets you an hour a day of exercise.
When I exercise using this app I never leave my living room area rug and my heart rate is up. The app is $4 and people are complaining about that cost plus the other add on apps they have to pay for. I use to pay $650 year for a gym membership. So if I pay a little extra to get the yoga, ball, and kettle ball apps it's nothing compared to $650 year. Spend some extra dollars lose some extra pounds. Good trade or highway robbery? Good trade for me.
I love this app. I love that I'm losing weight from it. It's made it possible to workout an hour every day between raising two small kids, housework, eating bonbons, watching soaps, and all those things SAHMs do. - Jill HarnessDecent workout, crummy appThe exercises themselves are fine and most people will get a decent workout following this routine, but you're better off getting free workouts on YouTube than paying for this app.
A few of the minor problems include:
-There is no setting for experience or fitness level, so 300 pound couch potatoes are getting asked to do the same routine as experienced athletes.
-The app only stops between exercises for about three seconds so you'll find yourself constantly pausing and unpausing as you get in position, which gets old really fast when you're trying to work out.
-The videos don't give any instructions or tips and the written instructions are sparse so you're likely not getting the most out of the workout and you could potentially injure yourself by doing an exercise wrong.
All this would at least be a little excusable if it weren't for the fact that when you buy the app you don't even get the whole app. They want you to pay over $10 to unlock the remaining workouts on the app. It would be one thing if this was a free app, but it's not. Don't charge me and then ask me for more money! - Monkey02Best free workout app I've found! This app is great! I can customize my workout or let it create one for me. I pick how long I want to work out and what areas I would like to center on (specific trouble zones or the whole body). You switch excercises every 1 - 1 1/2 minutes depending on your time limit, which really helps me push through and not get too worn out in one area. Time flies by. The instructions and video show me how to properly do each one. I have only done a few days and I'm happily sore from head to toe!
- B. NormalGreat idea, simple... completely screwed by scummy iCrap style monetization tacticsI have two conflicting views on this app:
Pro:
- the app is great if you have a little floor space, a mat, and 20 minutes to sweat (preferably with shower right after)
- it tells you what to do, somewhat balances the types of exercises by randomly selecting from the different types
- has enough exercises that you can do it every day or every other day and not feel like you're overtraining
Con:
- I got this app as a FAOTD and I have not updated it, thought it was very poorly programmed and obviously had tons of room for small simple improvements, but the basic idea was great so I thought this would easily be done
- from what I see of the "updates" they fixed none of the annoying things and added a ton of other annoyances including:
- an ad platform (not something I want if I'm paying for something, they can choose to display ads at some point in the future!)
- permissions that go too far (this should need practically no permissions, it's basically a video player!)
- and they didn't fix the s***ty programming and layout (probably because it's ported directly from the iCrap)
- in-app purchases for stretching? Get lost.
I liked this app in it's initial form but someone came along and totally ruined it. If you can get an old version, you're good. I was going to recommend my girlfriend buy this app, but there is no way I would say that now. I hope someone else can do the same idea but without all the BS.
These guys missed out on a real purchase here by being scummy. Maybe they can just post the old version for sale again, I'd tell my girlfriend to buy it then.
