  • HIGHLY Recommend this App for Many Reasons
This is the best app I've found for yoga. The poses themselves are extensive and varied (from beginner level to borderline advanced), the transitions are excellent, and there is a heavy focus on pramayana (breath). What's more, there are sanskrit names for each of the moves! I loved the trial version so much that I have just purchased the full version. I love that there is no music (there's ocean background noise if you choose to turn it on), and no cheesy positivity language - just practical, straightforward instructions that are clear and clearly demonstrated. Plus, with the full version I can make my own routine, and transitions between poses are still really easy and fluid (not to mention landscape view with the full version). I will never need another yoga app!

This is a great app. The video and audio are clear and the instructions are very clear and complete. However, for the beginner this isn't always a great option. The sun salutation moves very quickly and actually deviates from traditional sun salutation. Also, there is no variance in the timed workouts. Level 1 20 mins for example, is the same set of poses in the same order. The only way to have it changed up is to go and customize your own. This is great for the advanced person but not so great it you are just starting or looking for a little variety

I have downloaded many of the free "Daily" apps, only to absolutely love them. So when I found Daily Yoga, it was exactly what I was looking for. I was so confident that I paid for it. Unfortunately, it did not work from the get-go. It had trouble pulling up and would cut out frequently. I never use it. I wish I had not purchased Daily Yoga and do not recommend it.
  • A reasonable yoga training video but I wish the videos were larger!
This is a video program that has workouts of 20, 40 and 60 minutes. You can also select workout 1, 2 or create your own workout routine of your favorite poses. The voice providing direction is clear and it provides directions and details of the pose you are doing. The poses are sometimes done very quickly and it seems hurried with the voice in the background which seems to be rushing you through the exercise.

The video only covers about ¼ of the screen on my 8 inch tablet. I wish that the video frame size was larger so you could see the poses better when your tablet is standing up as you exercise. There is a time bar on the top of the screen that shows your progress through the entire exercise routine that you have selected. Unless you are a yoga person you will have to watch the video carefully to learn the routines. If you are just starting you should take care not to over extend yourself and you may want to use yoga blocks if you cannot reach the floor in some of the poses.

This is an OK app. It is a reasonable primer on the exercises. I do wish the video screens were larger and easier to see from a distance. I rate it as a 4 star item as a helpful training tool.

  • I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS APP!
I'm brand new to Yoga and I think this app is great. It's easy enough for the beginner but definitely has some challenging positions. The narrated instructions are concise and easy to follow. I like that I have two levels to choose from so as I progress I can move to the more difficult workouts. I also like that I can choose between 20, 40 and 60 minute workouts. A lot of the moves are repeated but that's ok as I'm just learning them and the repetition helps me to learn and know what's coming so I don't get behind the fabulously fit (grrr!) instructor. So when they say mountain pose or sun salutation I know what to do. I also like that you can track your calories burned for the workout/day/week. I like it very much and think it's an amazing value for the cost. I highly recommend this for the yoga newbie!
  • Some Missing Parts
I've never done yoga. I'm interested in it because of the great press it gets and because I have some nagging issues (specifically one ankle, one knee and sometimes lower back) and I heard and read that yoga can help with that. I also read how this app has a customizable pose list to help target specific areas. the problem is that as a newcomer I have no idea where to start.

I could go with routine 1 or 2 to start but I'm never told what the difference is between them and which parts of the body they target. And I couldn't find a way to skip a video and move to the next workout.

If I try to make a custom list I can see the names but I can't get more info about each one and I can't play the video unless I get to that part in the workout. So unless you know theses poses the custom route is not for you. Which means that customizing your workout to your trouble spots is not an option for new practitioners.

I do like that each pose has a real person showing you how to do it. I like that it will give you a full generic yoga workout. But it's just a little too complicated for new users, doesn't have any details and isn't easy to customize a smart routine.
  • convenient and thorough
I have wanted to try yoga, but hadn't found a good video. I can use this app anywhere, and customize the time I want for my practice. This allows for more regular yoga practice. The instructor's voice is pleasant, and she does a good job explaining each pose, and when to breathe. The demonstrations are by a real person, but she is a little ahead of the voice. This allows you to see what you'll be doing before she says. I usually just listen, and occasionally glance at the screen for reference. The ocean sounds in the background are soothing, not distracting. The app is very simple to use. My children also love practicing yoga with me. I love not having to go to a studio or gym. The workouts are thorough without being overly strenuous. I can feel my body strengthening, and toning, and see the difference, too!
