- Carla AlanizCrochet any way !!Great quality cotton yarn! It’s smooth, soft, and easy to work with, making it perfect for crochet and knitting. The mercerized finish gives it a nice sheen, and the Country Blue color is beautiful. Holds its shape well and is great for projects like dishcloths, garments, and accessories. Would definitely buy again!
- Kaitlyn D.Great value and great yarmabsolutely love this 3-pack of Caron All Day Cotton yarn. The yarn is soft for a cotton, smooth to work with, and has a nice slight sheen that makes stitches look clean and well-defined. It doesn’t feel stiff like some cotton yarns can, and it glides nicely on both crochet hooks and knitting needles.
The stitch definition is excellent, which makes it great for textured patterns, dishcloths, bags, garments, and other everyday projects. I also appreciate how sturdy it is — it holds its shape well and feels durable enough for items that will be washed and used often. Frogging is easy without the yarn fraying or splitting badly.
The 3-pack is a great value, especially if you’re working on a larger project or want matching skeins. Color consistency was spot-on, and the yarn worked up exactly as expected for a worsted weight. - Victoria BellKnits up beautifullyThis yarn has a very nice, silky, smooth feel. Like all cotton yarns, it has considerable weight, unlike the 'weightless' man-made yarns, so it has excellent drape. It is made by a 'braiding' of the individual threads, and then they're twisted to form the yarn. It doesn't split excessively when knitting, but it will split if you poke a needle into the yarn instead of wrapping, and then it tends to keep splitting until you knit past that section. It is absolutely the best for stitch definition. A complicated stitch pattern knits up beautifully and keeps its definition through wearing. If you're looking for a natural fiber that knits up beautifully, with great drape, this is your yarn.
- IvyGreat yarn, terrible factory knotsActual rating I'd say is 3.75. I enjoy the yarn itself is very soft and easy to work with. Breathable for wearable items and the colours are beautiful (though I wish there was a bigger selection). My issue? The factory knots. Some skeins have none, but one skein had 4 or 5 factory knots within the first HALF of the skein. There was one more really close to the end. Other skeins have had 3 or 4 total as well. With how small the skeins are you would think there wouldn't need to be so many.. Maybe one here and there. I absolutely hate weaving in ends just like most people, so needing to weave in more just because of factory knots really annoys me. I did a no-sew project where I would've only have to weave in ends from the beginning, where the skein ends, and where I finished each colour. Nope. Not including beginning and ends, I had to weave in 30 ends because of factory knots. Yes, I counted. I'll still order this yarn because it's better quality than other cotton I've used- I even have more on the way now and it's my 3rd time purchasing. But caron... You need to figure out those factory knots.
I still recommend this yarn, just a fore warning. - GGI LOVE this yarn!I ordered several packages of this yarn, half expecting the dye lots not to match, but they miraculously did.
The yarn is wonderfully soft and delightful to work with. It has incredible stitch definition, if that is what you are looking for. It frogs easily, if you are like me and have to pull out row after row when you find a mistake. I had a very hard time finding the center pull and ended up with a lot of 'yarn guts' on about half the skeins.
This yarn is 100% cotton but is lighter and has MUCH more drape than other cotton yarns. This is because of its chainette structure. This type of yarn, unlike many (most) cottons, is quite resistant to splitting. If you get splitting, try changing your hook or needles because it is almost certainly not the yarn. (Look at the yarn carefully and you'll see why.) I used Bates hooks/needles with not a single split and my sweater is already half finished.
The price is great, too, although I did get mine in Deal Days. This works up like much more expensive yarn. It is mercerized, with lovely, discreet sheen.
The color on this is a beautiful, soft blue that is almost periwinkle, but not quite. Just a hint of violet to the blue. I am working on an unstructured cardi and love the drape of this yarn and love the way the ribbed borders have a crisp look to them. When I finish, I'll come back here and add a photo. - Sarah pellegrinoAmazing!!!!!By far my favorite yarn to work with, super easy to work with and the texture is a dream, super super soft. Definitely getting other colors, definitely recommend this yearn especially for beginners as is hardy ever frays and it’s easy to see your stitches. I currently have it incorporated with a granny square blanket I’ve been working on (seen in photo) I got the tan one but as I said plan on getting more colors.
- MollyOne of my favoritesOne of my favorite cotton yarns. It’s not as soft as some, but definitely not uncomfortably coarse. I find it easy to work with (crochet). The white is great for yarn dyeing too! I have it in several colors and enjoy making placemats, coasters, washcloths and hand towels with them. Because it softens after washing I think it would work for garments as well.
- SweetkarrieGreat yarn!Absolutely lovely. Works up beautifully, the color is beautiful and easy to work with. Definitely going to be ordering more.
