  • A great yarn with a great price!
This yarn is very similar to other blanket yarn brands at half the cost. I used this yarn to make crocheted sloths and turtles. I found it to be easy to use and not starchy which can cause pull on your hand while you're stitching. This leads to painful areas on and around your thumb and write. I did not experience this at all. There was some shedding in the initial few yards of the yarn but overall, it wasn't enough for me to stop using it. I've only tried the sand colored yarn so far, but the brand offers several different colors that I am planning to try. Overall the quality of the yarn and the softness of the finished project made for a beautiful result. I encourage you to give it a try!
  • Soft, squishy, and fairly durable
Gone thru about a skein and a half and only found one small factory knot that ended up not being a big deal. Hasn't broken from tension at all. The texture is soft and buttery and working up into a beautiful alpine stitch blanket. Works ideally with my 8mm hook. Haven't washed it yet so not sure how it holds up but it's squishy and comfortable now and both me and my dog love it. Color is consistent thru the first 2 skeins so far.
  • Vacuum packed, good value, thinner than Bernat
I bought these to use with my other blanket yarns (bernat and yarn bee). Comparing to Bernat they are on the thinner side but they are still very nice and I believe they will work fine together, especially taking into consideration that Bernat has started thinning their yarns to cut costs.
These come vacuum packed so expect your 4 skeins to look like a plastic brick. They puff back up with no problem. Mine were fully back to normal in a few hours after opening. They are very dense skeins. Found a few knots in my first one but knot a big deal (ha).
The light brown color is pretty on point if not a tad bit lighter than the pictures. Overall a decent yarn. I'll make some bigger dolls with it and see how they work up. So far I've only made amigurumi swings with the brown.
  • Great chenille yarn, but so, so, so many factory knots.
I came back to revise my review after actually working with this yarn, and my review only changes slightly from the original (went from 5 stars down to 4). I personally love this chenille yarn for the price point, and I do think it's a great value compared to other big name brands of similar yarn. There has been extremely minimal shedding, which is awesome! I've frogged many sections of the blanket I'm making and I've never had an issue with shedding no matter how many times I've frogged a single section. I've not used it to make a magic ring/circle, but I've had to tie a lot of sections together because of factory knots (I'll touch more on that later), and I'd say it's pretty sturdy. I did snap the yarn a few times when tying sections together, but I was *really* pulling on it. I'd say it's quite strong. I did try melting the ends together with a candle flame to rejoin factory knots, but I wasnt able to get a good join that way (to be fair, I haven't been able to join any chenille yarn that way, so this could absolutely be user error). It's labeled as a super bulky size 6 chenille, and while I do find it to be slightly thinner than other bulky size 6 chenille yarns, it's not by a very noticeable amount. I've included a picture of the Knyteruna yarn (deep teal blue) next to some Lion Brand Cover Story chenille yarn (multicolored) for size comparison. I ordered a total of 5 of the 4 packs (20 balls in total), and not a single pack had any sort of smell to it at all. All 20 balls are in the color Indigo and every ball matches in color even though the full order was shipped in 2 separate parts, so they were shipped and received at different times. It's very easy to work with, and it's nice and squishy soft.
Now, with all that being said... I've gone through approx 15 out of the 20 balls while making a blanket so far, and I have been quite irritated with the sheer number of factory knots inside of each and every single ball. It does say on the paper insert they include that factory knots are to be expected, but there were way more knots than I have ever experienced with any other yarn brand or type before. There were at least 10+ knots in one of the balls, and there have been no less than 4 to 6 knots in every other ball so far. Even saying 4 knots per ball seems like I'm being too fair here because it seems like there's been a factory knot in every other row of my blanket up til this point. I feel like I can't complain about this too much because of the price point for a 4 pack, and the quality really does seem to be quite good for the price, but man.... I think be much more upset about it if I were making anything other than a blanket just for personal use. A few knots here and there is to be expected with any yarn, but this seemed excessive. Hiding a few knots in your project (depending on what's being made) isn't a big deal, but it becomes noticeable after a certain point, which does have an effect overall on your finished product.
Honestly, if it weren't for the high number of factory knots, I'd have hands down given this yarn a 5 star rating. The knots really are my only complaint, but it's kind of a big one for me, personally.
I did also find it odd that all 6 of the product photos included on the paper insert the yarn came with are all photos that were taken from Bernat Blanket's Amazon review sections, though. They're literally all made with Bernat yarn. At least one of them (the purple and white blanket) was taken from a Bernat Extra Thick Amazon review, and Bernat Extra is a size 7 chenille yarn, so it's not even the same size as this yarn. I feel like this is misleading, at best, to use a totally different product to advertise your own.
Would I buy this yarn again? Absolutely. Would I recommend it? Yes, but do keep in mind that there will likely be a varying number of factory knots inside of each ball. It really is hard to beat this price for the quality and amount that you get, though!
  • Great quality yarn affordable price
Love this yarn brand. I purchased this five different types and never disappointed. It does need to be rewound into a looser ball for the threads to puff since it comes in a compressed package. The yarn is super soft. Just a hair thinner than some of the Bernat yarns. Very nice to work with. Great for my plushies.
  • Breaks in skeins
It is soft and good to work with when crocheting. The glad that I have found is there are often breaks throughout a skein.
  • Fantastic yarn at a great price
Absolutely beautiful yarn. If you’re trying to find that certain name brand and need something just like it at a quarter of the cost then this is for you. The price was so great. I took a chance and I’m so glad I did. It came packaged so airtight, but fluffed up immediately upon opening and following the easy directions. I have it sitting out for the rest of the day and plan to start a blanket tomorrow. There is no smell and it is super soft. I ordered two 4 packs of one color and they look identical.
  • 10/10 recommend!
Summary: I bought tan and brown for amigurumi accents/hooves. I needed a weight interchangeable w Bernat. Even tho this yarn isn't smoothly soft as much if what I'll be pairing it with, it is IDENTICAL to the sturdier, soft, basic Bernat colors. I'm extremely pleased with these brown, tan, and red yarns! (I aso bought vanilla, but returned cuz quality was rough, NOT the same.)

PRO: -price for 4 skeins is unbeatable.
    -Yarn glides easily on hook.
-Yarn doesn't break when closing MR.
-18 st round size is true #6, interchangeable w Bernat.
    -Colors don't bleed.
    -Ends don't fray.
-Nice mushy, plush squish after working up.

NEUTRAL: -Starting pulls were oddly crammed into skeins' centers.
-Every skein had one knot join (but I really liked that the knot has long ends so no danger of coming loose).
-Each skein tied with a sweet bow ribbon.

CON: -Skeins are very tightly wound. I felt, even after relaxing from vacuum seal, the nap needed space to recover so I rewound all skeins before storage.
