- Burnt Out MommaCool but my kids are too curious!I’ll be honest — I was a little disappointed with these. I didn’t actually buy them for Easter baskets, but more for everyday play. We have a blackboard at home where my kids like to draw and express their feelings, so I thought these would be fun and different.
This is just my personal opinion (and my son doesn’t totally agree with me lol), but the colors aren’t very vibrant on a blackboard. They show up a bit better on concrete, but even then they’re still somewhat dull.
I do like the concept. I thought it was great that they seemed like they wouldn’t break easily, especially for younger kids. However, they actually come apart pretty easily. The bottom piece separates from the shell, and my boys started pulling them apart when they got frustrated that the color payoff wasn’t stronger.
I think there are a few minor flaws, but if you have older kids who aren’t going to take things apart to see how they work, these might work better for you. ???? My boys are just very curious and love to figure everything out!

The colors are very vibrant and match the cheerful spirit of the holiday perfectly.
I really liked the twist-up tube design because it protects the chalk and helps prevent it from breaking easily. It also makes it easier for the kids to hold, especially the younger ones. The colors show up great on sidewalks or chalkboards and are perfect for drawings, games, or small creative activities. I’m planning to set out white Easter eggs so the kids can draw on them with the chalk.
Another plus is that the chalk is easy to clean. It can be used on sidewalks or other surfaces and then washed away with water without much effort.

These are very durable within a plastic twist stick, great for summer activities, hopscotch drawing flowers on the driveway, drawing outline of bodies, or writing down your grocery list.
I’ve always had one wall in my kitchen painted with chopped paint so I could write my grocery list or the children’s chores or fun activities. We were gonna do throughout the weekend and my boys have always used the chalkboards to work out math problems. Leaving notes good morning Mom, or we need lunch money, ect.
The chalkboard paint is something that I’ve done in every house for the last 28 years.
My children are grown, however their still, my child my heart, so I’ve continued to have fun for the holidays. They’ll get something from the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and so forth.
So for the young and old it’s nice to do something special, something small, and chalk is definitely on the list for all kids to enjoy. - Christina F.Not worth the money!! CheapVery cheap. Most of the pencils were broken out of the cases and the chalk is so light you can barely see the colors on the sidewalk. Also the case will not stay closed. Disappointing to any child. Not worth the money.
- SamanthaDisappointedI really really wanted to love these as a mom with toddlers who goes through a lot of chalk, but I’m a bit disappointed. It’s a great concept. And with some work would be an awesome toy. But the plastic parts break easily (seriously my son was just moving the chalk up and it snapped) and the chalk itself runs out significantly faster than standard chalk (maybe something to do with the dust free formulation?). The plastic is thin enough that it splinters and could really be a safety hazard if a little one were to step on a piece. If the plastic were much sturdier and the chalk lasted as long as normal chalk this would be a 5 star review, but this just feels like another needless thing for the landfills.
