- BrittanyAddictive World building, Great Tension, and So Much MysteryI read Quicksilver about a year ago, and picking up Brimstone reminded me why I was obsessed in the first place. The worldbuilding in this series is so vivid and easy to fall into, and the mystery behind these characters is genuinely exciting. There’s always something you’re trying to piece together, and it keeps the story moving.
Saeris and Kingfisher have incredible tension—sharp, stubborn, and the exact kind of slow-burn push-and-pull I love. The side characters are just as intriguing and add so much depth to the story, making the world feel even more alive.
If you want a Romantasy with great chemistry, rich worldbuilding, and characters who keep you guessing, this is a fantastic read. - Amazon CustomerBook Review: Quicksilver by Callie Hart AmazingCallie Hart’s Quicksilver is a masterfully written, edge-of-your-seat thrill ride that not only captivates but also weaves its way into your heart. This book isn’t just a story—it’s an emotional experience that will have you laughing, crying, and gasping for breath as you immerse yourself in the lives of characters so vividly crafted, they feel like family by the end. From the very first page, Hart pulls you into a world of raw emotion, breathtaking twists, and heart-pounding suspense.
Characters That Steal Your Heart
The characters in Quicksilver are the beating heart of the story, each one bursting with depth, charm, and complexity. The protagonist, with their fiery spirit and unrelenting determination, is someone you can’t help but root for. Their strength isn’t just in their actions but also in their vulnerability—their struggles and triumphs resonate deeply, making them incredibly relatable.
The supporting characters are no less remarkable. Each one feels like a fully realized person, complete with quirks, flaws, and moments of brilliance. Some will make you laugh out loud with their sharp wit and banter, while others will tug at your heartstrings with their quiet courage and hidden pain. It’s impossible not to fall in love with them, flaws and all. Callie Hart has a way of making even the smallest side characters leave a lasting impression, and it’s one of the many reasons Quicksilver is such a standout novel.
An Emotional Rollercoaster
What sets Quicksilver apart is its ability to evoke such a wide range of emotions. One moment, you’ll be laughing at the clever dialogue and the next, you’ll find yourself tearing up at a scene so tender it feels like it’s ripped straight from real life. Then, just when you think you can catch your breath, Hart plunges you into moments of nail-biting tension or gut-wrenching anguish. It’s a book that doesn’t just tell you a story—it makes you feel every second of it.
There are scenes that will break your heart, but there’s also an underlying thread of hope and resilience that keeps you going. The relationships—whether romantic, platonic, or familial—are written with such authenticity that you feel every connection, every betrayal, and every moment of redemption as if it were your own.
A Plot That Keeps You Hooked
The pacing of Quicksilver is nothing short of perfection. The twists and turns come at just the right moments, keeping you on the edge of your seat without ever feeling overwhelming. Hart has a talent for blending high-stakes action with quieter, character-driven moments, creating a narrative that is as thrilling as it is deeply personal.
The central conflict is layered and compelling, with just enough mystery to keep you guessing without leaving you frustrated. Each revelation feels earned, and by the time the final page comes, you’ll be desperate for more. Thankfully, this is only the beginning of the journey, and the promise of a second book is a tantalizing prospect.
The Writing That Draws You In
Callie Hart’s prose is another highlight of Quicksilver. Her writing is evocative without being overly flowery, and she has a gift for crafting vivid imagery and authentic dialogue. The world she creates feels alive, and her ability to capture the nuances of human emotion is truly remarkable.
Final Thoughts
Quicksilver is more than just a book—it’s an experience that will stay with you long after you’ve turned the final page. It’s a story of love, loss, resilience, and the beauty of human connection, told through characters who feel like old friends. It’s a book that will make you laugh, cry, and ache in the best possible way.
If you’re looking for a story that will grip you from start to finish and leave you eagerly awaiting the next installment, Quicksilver is it. Callie Hart has delivered a masterpiece, and I, for one, cannot wait to see where she takes us in book two.
This isn’t just a book you read—it’s a book you live. Prepare to fall in love, and don’t say I didn’t warn you. - Sandravery goodWhat an interesting book. First of all I want to acknowledge that the audiobook narrators did an excellent job.

SPICE:????️????️????️
I am so upset with myself for putting this off for so long. Thank you everyone for (kindly) bullying me into reading it!! I immediately understand the obsession. Saeris is an awesome FMC. I adore how badass she is, she's strong on her own. Her point of view is clear, her motives feel so relatable, and her internal monologue is what my brain sounds like. Kingfisher is obviously a fan favorite and I can see why... I am desperate for him. He is the perfect amount of moody & grumpy & so sweet in his weird little way. The smut took a good chunk of build up but when it got there it was STEAMY. The spice felt like a plot device and spaced into the story well. As a couple, they are pretty rock solid in terms of substance. However, the GEM of this book was Carrion Swift. He is probably the funniest side character I have enjoyed this year. Total Ridoc from Fourth Wing vibes, Carrion is absolutely ridiculous and raunchy. Truly, I would read a book about him immediately. The magie system was incredibly interesting and the plot was fast paced and locked me in. For its size, there weren't moments that felt like a lull, something was ALWAYS happening. That, coupled with a jaw dropping last 100 pages, made this an easyyyy 5 star. The descriptions of the Gods and their powers made me feel like I was 13 again and obsessing over Greek God lore. One of my favorite romantasy books of the year easily. November cannot come soon enough for book 2. - Jessica StoverMy favorite book of 2025!This was about Saeris, she is living in poverty with her brother, struggling and stealing just to survive from one day to the next. When she is arrested and her life is on the line, the strange powers she's kept secret come to the surface and open a gateway to another realm. This realm is so different from the life she knows, starting with the fact that fae actually exist, she is now in their realm, and they are at war. Kingfisher is the fae warrior that saved Saeris and brought her to his realm and he thinks she is the key to helping his people win the war, but he isn't happy about it. No matter what it takes or what it will cost either of them, Kingfisher is determined to use Saeris's powers to save his people and win this war. And then he will let her go back to her own realm.
This romantasy was just so well done. The world building, the magic, the creatures, the action, the romance, the character development, I enjoyed every element of this story! It had my attention right from the start and took me on a journey that had my imagination running wild! And I also have to mention that the audio was absolutely incredible, the narrators brought this story to life so beautifully! I absolutely loved this book, and I am soo excited for Brimstone, book 2 to come out! ????❄️????????️????
