“I sit at the very top of a fresh month with a choice before me. One which very well may have an impact on the whole of my existence. Which book do I read next? -Emma M. Lion
Don’t you just love Emma already from that quote!
These books and these characters have completely captured my heart! I read book 1-6 in a week, and I’m ready to read them all over again! Why you may ask? Well let me tell you!
I loved the journey these books took me on! Follow alongside Emma on more adventures full of friendship, grief, mourning, joy, growth, and hilarious happy moments!
These books have the most wonderful tale of friendship! This group of 4 friends have my whole heart and I guarantee you will fall in love with them too!
The dashing characters, the lovely characters, the quirky characters, the hilarious characters, the questionable characters, the characters that you loathe. The characters in these stories are my favorite!
I have never laughed more while reading a book! Emma gets herself into the most troublesome situations! She is hilarious, a book worm, an aspiring blue stocking and I love her! The conversations, interactions and happenings in these books are the best!
I have never cried more while reading a book! (I’m looking at you book 4. Grab tissues!) The grief from loss, the pain and emotion are beautifully written and I felt it deeply! I cried tears right along with Emma! Emma’s paths to healing is so touching!
These books have so much depth, heart and humor! They’re intriguing and addicting. The are beautiful works of art. They are forever favorites that have found a special place in my heart and on my shelf!
*content: loss of parents and loved one in the past, deals with mourning and grief, minor occasional swear word mostly from one character (d word, h word, ba word) - Amazon CustomerDelightful!Delightful! Just delightful! Begin reading yourself and you will be brought fully into the world of Emma M. Lion and find a funny, courageous and delightful new companion.
- LinzyJust read this seriesMost books are all about the plot-- the characters have to get somewhere, you have to find out what happens, the villain must be defeated. This series is unhurried. I feel no urgency to know "how it ends," I just don't want it to end at all. Usually I read quickly, skipping here and there just so I can reach the end. I find myself savoring these books. Like a good meal, or a lazy afternoon.
These are books you want to linger over. The characters are well- developed and even the place itself has a character of its own. Emma herself is light and witty and poignant. The series handles some heavy topics, but never gets weighed down or takes itself too seriously thanks to Emma's healthy sense of the ridiculous.
Just read these books. I kind of love them. One of my new favorites. - Ken-KellyKeeps getting better.Although the series is taking its time, I am enjoying getting to know Emma and the circle of friends she has acquired.
- AndreaWonderfulI absolutely love this series and am on my second time reading it. The characters are so deep and in this one Emma has to deal with so much heartache. It’s so comforting that she has people in her life to help shoulder her burdens and help her through the worst parts!
- CDLOVE this seriesI am loving this series! Beth Brower's character Emma has no bounds to her wit and hilarity.
This volume is steeped in more grief, but also more character growth for Emma. Her band of friends gets stronger, although we tend to see less of Pierce in this book. She gains a new ally in Mrs. Penury.
The ending is warm and cozy, and Emma has added to her little library. I am sad that I am more than halfway through the series, and I hope the author can start writing faster ????. - Mathesonworth the readSoo well done! Witty, charming, heartwarming. I’ve loved every volume of the Unselected Journals. Couldn’t put them down. Can’t wait for the rest.
- J. WellsFun and Thought ProvokingI am enjoying the series immensely and have recommended it to everyone I know. T
his one had all the humor of the proceeding books, however the way it dealt with overwhelming grief was so soft and eloquent and understated, but real as well. As someone who deals with the hard things in life with humor and busy-ness, I get the character of Emma very much. Poignant, but hilarious!
