  • One of my favorites of the series!!
This was a great way to end this series: the mixture of the love story and the training warriors was perfect. And I love the underlying themes throughout the series.
  • Whoa
Oh my LANTA! This was THE MOST incredible book so far. The storytelling is woven and written so beautifully and so seamlessly. I just discovered these books less than 2 weeks ago and I've been entranced while having my nose embedded in these tomes. This particular volume was so incredible. I'm sad there isn't another yummy morsel to devour. I sincerely hope the next book comes out soon! Thank you to the author for writing such an enchanting and consuming series!
  • Absolutely fantastic read
I honestly don’t know how to say what I want to say about this series. I have been reading non-stop and sneaking in little reading periods whenever I could. I was actually excited to finish my workday so that I could go home and curl up to read. I would read when I should have been doing something around my house! I was hooked on this story from the first book. I adored Feyre from the beginning. I actually liked Tamlin, but just knew Rhys was so much more and craved the connection that he and Feyre had. This story was just so well developed and written. Each of the characters were given so much attention and they were developed beautifully. You just have to love all of them! Their family connection in this last book was perfect. I feel like there are some real families that are not this close or loving. Sarah Maas was masterful in each character”s development. This was a very long series/story, but it never got boring or repetitive. It needed to be this long and I honestly did not want it to end. I want to know what happens with each of them. Azriel, Mor??? And what about Elain? Does she ever find happiness with her mate? This was the first fae/fantasy series I have read and I really did enjoy it. I am now a Sarah j Maas fan and will be trying her other works. I just need to recover from this book hangover first. Or actually savor it a little longer before I can move on. I absolutely recommend this series even if you don’t think it is your cup of tea. Give it a try !!! You may fall hard like I did….
  • More Emotional Side of ACOTAR
When I started reading A Court of Silver Flames, I was very curious how Nesta’s story would be written, since she has been one of the more complicated characters in the series. This book's tone is way more emotional than the earlier ones. Instead of focusing mainly on romance and politics, it dives deep into trauma, recovery, and learning to accept yourself, even when you feel broken.

Nesta is not always an easy character to root for, but her individual character growth is amazing in this book. Watching her relationships shift, especially with Cassian, made the slow burn payoff. Their dynamics are raw, messy, and very different from Feyre and Rhysand’s relationship.

At times, the pace of the storyline does slow down, because of how much of Nesta’s internal struggles are tied into it.

If you enjoy books with great character growth and slow burn relationships, then I recommend it.
  • Spoilers! Best book on the series!
I know many come to ACOTAR for Rhysand and Feyre, but I stayed for Cassian and Nesta. There are many aspects of this book to review, but the one aspect of this book I want to focus on is the emotional arc of Nesta. This honestly, made this my favorite book of the series.

????Emotional Arc: I know it’s easy to hate on Nesta, but I always sensed there was a little more to her than just being unlikeable and malicious. Nesta is an emotionally broken woman. She is the product of her upbringing, problematic relationship with her parents, and the horrific events that happened to her and her sisters. Throughout this book, we see a self-destructive, shattered woman determined to push everyone away and simply waste away. And she is generally successful; she hits a point where everyone is ready to give up on her. She isolated herself and pushed anyone who remotely tried to aid her. Only two people were steadfast to see someone worth saving: Feyre and Cassian.

But Cassian is the one who continues to reach out his hand in the hope that she will take it. As he pushes her to fight for herself, it is so heart-wrenching to see her continue to believe she isn’t worth saving. We slowly see those barriers crumble to a point where her emotions flood through. Even after her breakthrough, she continues to struggle with her self-worth, still struggles to share her feelings with those she clearly loves so deeply. It’s through the support from Cassian and her finding kinship with other women struggling that she is able to put the pieces of herself back together.
  • So good, I can't put it down
This is probably my favorite book in the series. I struggled through the beginning 12 chapters due to frustrating situations between the characters, but I was still sucked in. I love the complexity of every character and the world the author has built. Can't wait to read TOG!
  • Good read, creates a visual story
I enjoyed the series, easy reads but she does a great job of creating the visual story that draws yiu in.
  • My favorite book from Sarah J. Maas
My daughter told me I would enjoy these stories. Beautifully written and masterful in the world building prose. This book really had me invested in the characters. Aside from the magical moments and invigorating action what drew me in most were the heart wrenching moments between this group of loving and caring individuals. Nesta’s healing journey had me teary eyed more a couple of times. I really loved it.
