  • Liz Tomforde does it again with another incredible release
Every time I read a Liz Tomforde book, I'm blown away, absolutely in awe of how well this woman writes. Like how do you create stories that feel so real and make all of your readers so emotionally invested!? That's pure talent if you ask me.

Play Along had everything I could possible ask for in a Liz Tomforde book - it was emotional, laugh out loud funny, spicy, passionate, and so addicting I didn't move from the couch for HOURS (I swear I left my butt print behind from not moving).

Not only did Liz deliver on our man, Isaiah, she also gave us back all of our favs from Indie + Ryan, Stevie + Zanders, to Kai and Miller, I was crying all over again when Kai gave his retirement from baseball speech.

Every single time Isaiah said, "Come on wife, play along" I just about died because the sentiment was so sweet and perfect, and so completely Isaiah and his playful personality. Pairing him with the ever serious and type-A Kennedy was brilliant. And to see an FMC in medicine represented so well was incredible, especially being a woman in medicine myself. So THANK YOU Liz for bringing awareness to the misogyny in medicine, because female physicians are just as cable as their male counterparts. It reminds me of the old Gatorade commercial that says "I can do anything you can do but better," and that's Kennedy to a T. She can really do anything - and by the end of the book she does - she accomplishes her goals and she handles all of her tough situations with absolute poise and grace. She may not be everyone's favorite FMC, but she's one that deserves to be seen and heard.

This series lives rent free in my brain and I know I'll be an absolute MESS when it's done, but I will continue to read ANYTHING Liz writes in the future because I haven't read a book of hers I didn't like. In fact, they've all been 5 stars for me.
  • ✨Isaiah Rhodes Dreams Come True✨
    Rating: 4.75/ 5 ⭐️
    Plot: 4.5/5 ⭐️
    Spicy Level: 3/5 ????️

In all honesty when I read this book I didn’t expect them to be married. I went into this blind because I didn’t want any spoilers. I just knew it was about Kennedy and Isaiah. And from reading them in the previous book I knew I was going to be hooked.

All I can say is that Isaiah literally gets anything he wants. And what he always wanted was Kennedy. And when he found out she wasn’t engaged anymore, he decided to take it more serious and try to become a better man for her. But we didn’t expect them to be in Vegas at the same time and get married!! And all the history and love happens from there. I love that they helped each other from their own problems/ struggles. And the communication that they both have made me love them so much. There was no toxicity from them. And I was hitched. I love that this is a more romantic slow burn romance because Kennedy struggles with touch. But Isaiah helped her through it ???????? LOVE THEM.
  • Worth the Wait
I feel like I’ve been foaming at the mouth waiting for this Windy City installment since Isaiah and Kennedy were set up in Book 3, and let me tell you, Liz has never disappointed me!!

This was a precious story. I so appreciate when both the main characters have an arc and become better people by being together. Kennedy and Isaiah each had things to overcome and while they supported one another, they each advocated for themselves and put in work on their own which feels so empowered.

Liz is a fabulous writer, and I think she just keeps getting better. The pacing of this one was excellent - I never felt like we were stuck in one place, or circling the same miscommunications, or weren’t seeing the relationship progress. I think the prose improves with each book, and there’s just something about the seamless incorporation of the most lovable side characters, that has me kicking my feet.

Isaiah and Kennedy were so tender with one another and truly became one another’s biggest cheerleaders. I loved that while they started with a foundation of admiration/chemistry, the way their love grew and deepened as they got to know one another and SEE the other person’s true self was what really put their story over the top for me.

I rank this one under Caught Up and the Right Move only because of how deeply I relate to the characters in those, but this was such an enjoyable read and perfect addition to the series! I’m equal parts impatient and dreading Book 5 - so, so excited to read Rio’s story, but devastated Windy City is coming to an end.
