If you want a dependable heated hose that gives you options and doesn’t break the bank, this one is an easy 5 stars. - joe roesenerUpdated 11.30.25: 1st hose leaked but the merchant promptly replaced the hose11/30/25 Update: After leaving the 1st review detailing the leaking issues, the merchant promptly contacted me and apologized for the problem with the hose. They offered to either refund the purchase price or send me a new hose. I elected to receive a new hose and I had it 2 days later. The new hose is performing well with no leaks, although there is a slight "plastic" taste in the water. Hopefully this will subside over time. The merchant's positive response in rectifying an issue with their product is appreciated and I would buy from them again.
1st Review: The hose leaks from both ends where the hose crimps/seals to the fittings. There's no way to fix it without cutting the hose and making new crimps/seals - John B.DO NOT BUY! Fraudulent listing.The listing CLEARLY states the hose is self regulating and does not heat when the temperature is 47*f or higher. Furthermore the listing plainly states it heat production is regulated by the out door temperatures, so that the hose produces more heat the colder things get outside. This is not true, and the customer service rep plainly stated this is not true. (see comments below)
I set up the hose and plugged it in while the daytime temp was 73*f and the night time temps are dropping into the 30's*. According to the listing, The hose should heat at night when it is needed, and turn off during the day when it is no longer needed. This is not the case. I was burned by the water because it was so hot while the temps were above 70*f outside.
I contacted the seller for assistance and was told the hose does not heat the water inside the hose. If it does not heat the water inside the hose how does it prevent freezing? LOL.
Below is the response from the seller:
Our water pipes heat up when they are energized. The hose is aimed at freezing water pipes in winter to prevent water pipes from freezing. There is no function of heating the water inside of the pipe.
Therefore, we recommend that you can use it below 32℉.
I am not going to wait until 2 am to go outside and plug the hose in only when the temps are below 32*.
They did give me a refund, and did not require me to return the hose.
UPDATE -
Because of my full schedule, I did not get around to removing the hose until today. I have noticed the hose produces a gas of some sort when water sits in it over a time... as in 30 minutes or so. You have to let the water run until all the water that was in the hose has been purged before the foaming goes away and you get good water.
Since I have a different hose, I decided to disassemble this hose to see what could cause the foaming, since the listing said it was a silicone inner hose, it should be inert. It turns out this hose is nothing like the description. It is a regular garden hose with heat tape on the outside. There is absolutely NO temperature regulating electronics present, and no silicone interior.
It is very durable however, and the heat tape is very effective. I truly wish they had not lied about it, and had actually produced what they said they did. - Quy LeGoodThis heated water hose is a solid choice for cold-weather RV or outdoor use. It keeps water flowing reliably in freezing temperatures, feels durable, and is easy to set up with standard fittings. The heating works well for typical winter conditions, and the length options are practical. Slightly stiff compared to regular hoses and needs a nearby power source, but overall dependable and good value for winter protection.
- Michael AntuDoes its job and then someThis is a good product for winterizing. It froze one night and the hose was not plugged in. I plugged it in and with in an 1and a 1/2 I had running water. It melted all ice in the hose. I recommend NOT forgetting to plug in your hose before the freeze.
- hotmdcElectric plug can’t be plugged into trailer it’s too short, on hydrant end.Works great but is a huge drain on my electric bill. I wish the electric plugin was on the other end of the hose so we could plug it into my trailer, while in my driveway or back yard I need a 50’ extension cord from the water hydrant. To an electrical source. It got to 7℉ at night and even though the hose wasn’t long enough at 30’ to go from the hydrant to the trailer we attached a regular 20’ water hose to it and kept the faucets open to a trickle and the hoses and water never froze, allowing us to use the toilet and faucets in the trailer. Now that’s a hearty heated hose! I gave it 4 stars because I need the electric plug to be on the trailer end not hydrant end and it can’t be reversed.
