When I moved apartments, I used a screwdriver to remove it and it did not leave any damage. But was strong on the door (until I peeled it off with a screwdriver). If I ever needed extra security on my doors again, I'd buy this again. I had used it as an extra defense at my old apartment, where it wasn't the safest neighborhood.
