- WoodyExcellent razor. Period.I have been using a $170 Panasonic foil Arc 5 for 7 years. It’s very loud and the replacement heads and blades are very expensive.
I was getting ready to take a trip and the Arc 5 died. The Norelco 2400 was on sale (for a fraction the price of a new Panasonic) and would be here the next day.
I feel like a fool for having spent all that money on the Panasonic. Because this Norelco cuts every bit as close, is more comfortable, qieter, and quicker. It’s also MUCH easier to clean and maintain.
The Norelco 2400 is a solid, well-made, piece of precision equipment. Honestly, if you want a great electric razor, that really performs, and not fork over a bundle, get this Norelco. - kneecapped09Very disappointing! New update!First 3 shaves were fine, then just quit cutting! I followed all directions for using, but it just will not cut. I have tried shaving dry, shaving wet, even tried with shaving cream.
Seems like either motor is no good, running very slowly, or blades are already dull. Grabs random hairs and pulls them out!
NEW UPDATE! Contacted customer service, they immediately sent me a replacement. Great people! New, replacement works wonderfully. I now highly recommend this shaver - TSExcellent shave that almost rivals a blade, but not crazy about the charging***UPDATE 9/14/25***
I’ve now used this for a couple months and I continue to be very impressed. Initially I was a little surprised at how long it took to fully charge but then found out why — it lasted upwards of 30 shaves(!!!) before the orange light indicated it needed to be charged. That’s impressive that you can shave for a month without recharging! Despite my slight — and I do mean slight — misgivings I mentioned earlier about charging I’m otherwise very happy and would highly recommend this razor.
=============================================================================
The motor in this runs at a much higher speed than my prior Norelco razor that bit the bullet, and it literally takes half the time for me to shave and it’s much closer as well — it almost (but not quite) rivals shaving with a blade, which I think is pretty impressive and again far superior to my old razor. One thing I’m not crazy about is it comes with a USB charging cord so a wall adapter is needed — I’d much rather just have a regular wall plug. Also, you can’t use the razor when it’s plugged in probably because it can be used wet or in the shower (who even does that??? ????) and they had to protect against stupid people electrocuting themselves. It does take a while to fully charge and flashes orange when it’s getting low so that’ll help not running out of charge mid shave and should be ok, but due to these charging limitations I subtracted a star. I’ve only used it three times but it’s still going strong so I’ll see how long it lasts and update. But from a pure shaving standpoint I’m very happy with the performance and would highly recommend it from that perspective. - Sean BozarthSmooth, Comfortable Shave Every TimeThis shaver is excellent for the price. It gives a close shave without irritation, even on sensitive skin. I’ve used it both wet and dry, and it performs great either way. The battery lasts a long time, and it’s super easy to clean. Perfect for everyday use or travel.
- roger h.A good shaverA great product for the money. Works well for my needs
- Ben ViehmanNot the Smoothest Shave EverWhen comparing this 2400 Series Phillips Norelco razor to my Venus Colors 3 blade disposable razor, here's what I think.
Smoothness: 2/5 The closest shave I could get felt like 12 hours of growth as a person with relatively slow growing facial hair and who shaves every 48 hours. I had to go back and shave my face shiny smooth with my Venus. The Phillips razor has no concept of being able to shave against the grain to get the shiny smoothness that I like.
Blood: 3/5 There was about one third less blood when I shaved with the Phillips razor than my Venus razor. My face just happens to surface bleed very easily whenever I shave with anything because of my acne and scabs.
Total time: 5/5 It took about 8 minutes to complete a shave with the Phillips, but I did need to go back over sections about three times. It usually takes me about 12 minutes to shave with my Venus.
Price: 4/5 The Phillips is a good deal at $40 if you want to save money and don't want to have to keep buying disposable Venus razors for $1.50 each forever.
Overall, I would only ever use the Phillips Norelco razor if I had really bad acne and wanted to reduce blood letting or if I was in a great hurry in the morning and just needed something in terms of a shave. I think its strong suit is getting rid of stubble length body hair, ironically. - InghamAnd so onBroke other option’s top spring from cleaning so bought Norelco.
Very pleased with wet-dry option
Doesn’t shave as close as razor
Had a Norelco when I started shaving many years ago.
Charging uses own electrical cord not uSB - C. M. KillpackProvides a decent shave.Provides a decent shave which I would expect from Philips Norelco. Satisfied with the unit. Unit needed to be charged prior to use - battery pretty low.
