- SiR CueLess than 2 minutes for my whole head? Sign me up!I have tried about 10 of these. I’m going to list some pros and cons of this product.
Build quality: it feels durable and doesn’t feel like it’s going to break, very well built.
Shave time: I can literally finish my whole head in less than 2 minutes. That extra blade makes a huge difference.
It’s waterproof as I have used it in the shower multiple times and have had no issues. I let it dry completely before I put it on the charger if I have to charge it.
Battery: Talking about charging it, the battery last a very long time. I’ve used it well over a month and still had 40% charge. I only charged it because I was going on vacation. What’s even better is that the charger is USB C.
Skin irritation: My head does get red after using, but I have not experienced any irritation.
Shave effectiveness: it does not get as close as a traditional razor, however it does get close enough and about 50x less time needed. I use it every day or every other day to keep my head looking fresh.
Ease of use: This product makes it very easy, the blade attachment is a magnet and clips on and off and you’re good to go. You turn it on and either go back and forth or a circular motion to take care of stubborn hairs.
Size: It fits perfectly in your hand. It’s not too big and it’s not too small, it has great weight to it so you don’t feel like it’s going to fall out your hand.
Things I love; Extra blades 7v5 makes it stand out in the competition. The battery, it last forever. Shave time, less than 2 minutes. The shave is close enough for me, and the charger is USB C.
Men may also use this for other areas that are way too sensitive for a traditional razor and it works like a charm.
Cons: There aren’t many, but one thing I don’t like is the magnet head. If you’re trying to get a really close shave and you happen to put too much pressure, the head magnet will go flying and there will be hair everywhere. It’s not a huge deal as you can just adjust your pressure and it won’t have an issue.
Getting all the hair out can be a pain, it does come with a small brush, I suggest to use it but you will spend some time getting the hair out.
Just like every electric razor, if you have too much hair, it will struggle to cut and it does pull on the hair rather than cutting it. I use my clippers to cut my hair low enough, then use the electric shaver.
This still gets 5 stars because the pros overweigh the cons by a mile. I recommend this for us bald men who don’t want to spend 30 mins - an hour shaving. - BudBayViewLove it!I shave my head and some body parts, and I have been looking for a cost-effective blade alternative. Picked this up four months back. I love this thing! I use it in the shower, soap up and it glides on. It is not blade close, but close enough, faster and cheaper in the long run. Battery runtime is adequate, usually once a week charging, with daily use.
Just don’t drop it. However, it was inevitable with soapy hands. It hit the shower floor, the blade assembly popped off, and a few springs and a plastic part popped off. I got it reassembled, but all I will say is, do not drop it, those are some very small parts and the mechanisms to independently articulate the blades are intricate. It is what it is.
Price point is great compared to higher end models, it works, it is convenient, works in the shower, and it saves me from $$ blades. - Chris MooreGood for the PriceI wanted to do something different after 5 years with a Panasonic ARC5, having gone through lots of blades and foil with the razor having almost no battery life left.
This 7-blade design is all the rage with headshavers these days, so for a price that's less than half what blades and foil would cost on my ARC5, I decided to give this a shot. In the past I've stayed away from the round blade design, particularly because cleaning them, even under running water, is a huge pain.
In the case of this razor, the head is magnetic and it just pulls off. Once it's off the bottom side is open, so it's a simple matter of brushing it out and running it under water and it cleans fast and easy. The rest of the unit is waterproof, so you can run it under as well and it cleans spotless.
As far as the shave quality goes, it's about what you'd get with a more expensive razor. The head is not as flexible as it looks in photos, but it does bend to the roundness of your cranium. It works pretty well for shaving the face as well. It's also pleasantly quiet too, which surprised me since it's got so many moving blades. My head came out nice and smooth and my face was nicely free of scruffy stubble. It's not as close as a traditional blade, but then no electric is. The only thing that's really as close as a blade is a blade.
It uses a standard USB-A to USB-C cable for charging, which is great because that's a lot easier to replace than some proprietary cable would be. The downside is you have to supply your own power block if you want to charge it in a power outlet.
As far as attachments go, I tried out the trimmer attachment for eyebrows and it worked great - nice and even, and it just didn't take everything off so I look like a weirdo that should have their picture on an FBI wanted poster. I tried the ear/nose hair attachment and it left them both nicely trimmed and groomed properly.
The display is a bit confusing because it shows the estimated minutes of run time left, rather than the percentage of charge left as others razors do. I had no trouble with battery life. Total shave time was about 10 minutes including the time I was working with the attachments, and it still could have gone for 75 more minutes if I wanted.
Durability remains to be seen - I purchased it with the extra $3.00 warranty replacement plan so if I don't get 2 years out of it, at least I'll get my money back. If it breaks after 2 years, at least my bank won't be broken.
Overall, this is a good deal and you really get a lot for the low purchase price. Longevity remains to be seen.
