  • Myers Has Done It
I challenge you to a find a more charming, genuine, loving, hilarious, and creative collection of stories anywhere. This book is hilarious and a fun read, but more than that this book is a model for aspiring writers to create, and sets the standard for self-expression, realization, or whatever you want to call it. Myers has somehow managed to capture her own experience in a way that is not only likeable but irresistible. If you have ever had an awkward moment, if you have ever felt pressured by someone, if you have ever felt ashamed for things you should not be ashamed of, and if you have ever wanted to see a story about someone learning to love themselves so they can fall in love with their soulmate, then this book is for you.
  • conversations with Elyse
Found Elyse on YouTube and enjoyed her content (especially since I also live in Nebraska). Elyse writes like she speaks in the best possible way: honest, real and a bit neurotic. Feels like you're just chit-chatting with a friend. Also loved the illustrations.
  • Funny AND heartwarming
I loved this book by Elyse Myers. It talks about her single life and I especially liked the story of her meeting her future husband and the path taken to being unsingle through Kansas on the way to Nebraska.

I follow the author on Facebook and she writes just like she talks, with no artifice. I enjoyed the words and the drawings and learning more about Elyse. She is funny and warm and quirky and I love her.

I can hardly wait until her next book is out.
  • Loved
I loved this book. I found the different stories to be funny, heartbreaking, hopeful, and genuine and I am not sure what more you could ask someone to share. This book isn't a beginning, middle, and end. It's snapshots of life, the moments that make a person, and I thought it was beautiful.
  • Creative, heartbreaking, inspiring, heartwarming
    Elyse!!!!!
    YOU ARE A WRITER GIRL!
I've read 60 books so far this year and I can confidently say this is my best read of the year. I can hear YOU, and I can also hear neurodivergent girls like me in every word you wrote. I was kicking my feet and giggling the second I saw Jonas' name. The creativity and the heart you put into this is off the charts. The last chapter made me cry like a baby. Keep writing girl, I will read every word you put out!
  • Not a format I personally like
When a person tells their story, you always should feel proud of them. Elyse Myers does a great job of making you feel like you are sitting down across from your friend hearing their story as they live it. That being said not knowing her personally made it hard for me to read. The format is done in a personal way just not the way I joy reading books.
  • It’s a great book, I’d love to tell you!
Long been a fan of Elyse. Only reason for 4 stars is that the book arrived with scuff marks.
  • Best of Elyse Myers
Finished it a day because I couldn’t put it down. The book itself is fun and adorable with little illustrations throughout. The stories are beautifully written while being endearing and relatable. I laughed and cried and can see myself rereading again.
