101 Things Every Young Athlete Should Know: Master Goal Setting, Mental Toughness, Perseverance, Teamwork, Discipline, Nutrition, Injury Prevention, and More!

Top reviews from the United States

  • Good staple read for teen boys
Perfect gift for teen boy who loves basketball. Teaches life lessons and applies sports! Perfect addition to any boys library.
  • How to be ready to succeed in sports
Author Taylor Marr presents one of the best guides for those who are entering various forms of athletic participation in this now indispensible cogent ‘training book.’ Or as the author states, ‘Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced athlete, there are some common things that you should know to ensure that your athletic journey is safe, meaningful, and fun.’

Accompanied with some excellent artwork that illuminates the text, Marr discusses everything from the importance of setting realistic goals to physical and mental preparation to the correct approach to physical training, understanding (and incorporating!) good sportsmanship, the importance of teamwork, physical care from nutrition and hydration to injury prevention – the advice is encompassing. Marr’s writing style is straightforward and completely accessible, making this fine book a ‘must read’ for aspiring (and experienced!) athletes. Recommended.
