Scattered Minds: The Origins and Healing of Attention Deficit Disorder

Top reviews from the United States

  • Brilliant
This author is brilliant! Best book I've read on a disorder. Great read if you or anyone you love has ADHD. Fascinating information that has changed the way I approach things.
  • Most helpful read- unlike any other ADD book- this author gets it!
Oh my goodness- I’ve read many ADD books- this author is different and in my opinion spot on. Totally would recommend unlike all the other books I’ve read and wouldn’t recommend. This has given me insight to my son’s brain and why he does what he does along with my own behaviors. Very enlightening. Highly recommend!
  • fast ship
    great item
  • very informative
I enjoyed reading this book and it gave me a lot of things to introspectively think on. I would recommend this book
  • Compassionate View of ADD
Reading this book was like being with my best friend who knows me, understands me, and loves me despite of it all. Gabor Mate is such a compassionate writer who lays out the ins and outs of ADD without casting blame in any direction. He also shares his own experience of ADD and his experience with his ADD children. In the argument of heredity vs. environment, he tends to focus more on environment, and the causes of ADD in early childhood, and how by changing the environment for the person with ADD, they can learn to thrive.
  • mental health
Amazing book. My son doesn't have ADHD, but I learned so much about him in this book. It also is good to see that the parenting method matches with another parenting method " Love and Logic".
I have been reading so many books to be a good parent and learning so much about myself and my son.
Mental health doesn't get much talked about or gets addressed in the state of Colorado. So I guess self help and reading is the way to find support and thank goodness for friends.
  • life changing
This book completely changed my view on the human experience! It has opened my mind to a new level of understanding!
  • helpful idea
love the author, didn't read the book but added to my collection
