- "teneke"Enjoyable, light hearted, beautifully illustratedDelightful anecdotes about the beauty and wisdom to be appreciated when being more mindful of wild feathered friends. Impressive illustrations. Light but very enjoyable read.
- C WisniewskiBeautiful GiftI have enjoyed many Amy Tan books, and this is so different for her. Who knew she was an artist! It's a beautiful book for bird lovers. I take it out on my deck, put my Merlin app on, and enjoy her tales about nature and birds!
- Love My Bookish LifeBeautiful!I always enjoy Amy Tan's writing and I really love birds, bird watching, birding...
So this book was a natural choice! I love the illustrations, so whimsical, beautiful, and in some cases more helpful than actual bird books. I mostly enjoyed the text, her interactions, interesting observations, investments-emotional, financial, time, etc.
A wonderful book for any birder, backyard or otherwise. - Carolinegreat for bird loversGreat book with illustrated drawings. My dad loves birds and he was elated opening this on his bday
- Columbus OhioGorgeous book at a fair price'Startling lovely book, advertised in good condition almost new. Very pleased thank you.
- sharon f. leffBird Observations, Shared to Help!Best part of this collection on bird chronicles are the detailed drawings and cross references. Stories are engaging and helpful, sometimes instructive about need of monitoring feeders and spotting ill birds. Removal of feeders to mitigate viral avian transmission. Also shared invitations and interactions with birds occur gradually through steps.
Because Tan engages with birds at various windows and in backyard, she monitors movement, patterns, and changes. Blessed to not only observe but know her resident birds, like her 2 owls, Tan has observed to learn dietary needs and interactions.
The chronicles become a family almanac of sorts as each season brings returns and departures. Informative and personal anecdotes capture readers. - Lawrence1919New spin from TanVery sweet book by this author. It lacks a lot of substance, but the illustrations make it a pleasure to look at. It’s very nice to see the diversity of her art forms.
- JoyLove this book- entertaining & educationalLove this book- very entertaining! I was concerned that I would not like it since I didn’t consider myself a bird person- boy was I wrong. Amy Tan is a gifted writer and talented artist ( sketches of birds throughout book) Don’t hesitate to purchase!
